WhatsApp for iOS launches Dark Mode support

WhatsApp has finally launched support for Dark Mode after weeks of testing.

WhatsApp has released the latest software update for the app on iOS. With this update the app is on version 2.20.30. The shining new feature is obviously support for Dark Mode, which is only available for iPhones and iPads running iOS 13. If you have a device running an older version of the mobile operating system, dark mode won’t run on your app.

Here’s the changelog:

  • Dark mode is available for users on iOS 13. To get started, open Settings app > Display & Brightness > select “Dark”.
  • New search options allow you to filter by author and content type – so you can easily find that photo from mom.

When Dark Mode is activated, the WhatsApp will show a dark background, a dark settings section, dark chat bubbles, and a darkened splash screen for good measure.

The updated app is available now for free.
