This tweak lets you launch the Camera app from anywhere in iOS

One of the best reasons to own an iPhone is to have one of the world’s greatest point-and-shoot cameras at your disposal. But even better, those with jailbroken iPhones can augment their camera’s capabilities on top of all the killer features Apple provides out of the box.

Enter Fisting, an unfortunately named, but free jailbreak tweak by iOS developer kremedved that makes accessing your iPhone’s Camera app a cinch no matter where you are in the operating system.

Using the fisting jailbreak tweak is quite easy – with it, you can either twist your wrist twice quickly or shake your iPhone violently as you would with shake to undo and your Camera app will appear before your very eyes.

This works regardless of what interface you’re in, be it the Lock screen, the Home screen, Notification Center, or even within an app. And best of all, it’s instantaneous without requiring you to leave the interface you’re in to go searching for some toggle button.

Here’s a demo:

One caveat, however, is that your iPhone’s display must be on for the tweak to work. This is because the developer wants to avoid false positives when your iPhone is asleep in your pocket since it would be easy for your handset to register accidental ‘shakes’ with the to-and-fro movements that your legs make as you walk.

Fisting doesn’t come with any options to configure, and the tweak supports jailbroken iOS 12 and 13 devices. Those interested in checking it out can download it for free from the BigBoss repository in their preferred package manager.
