‘Dickinson’ for Apple TV+ gets a new ‘Immortality’ trailer

One of the TV series coming to Apple TV+ on launch day (November 1) is Dickinson, and now we have a new trailer to show it off.

Apple on Thursday uploaded the “Immortality” trailer for its upcoming comedy series to its official YouTube channel, showing off over a minute of footage from the upcoming show. We get to see plenty of Hailee Steinfeld (BumbleBeeThe Edge of Seventeen) as the lead character, the poet Emily Dickinson, as she navigates a world seemingly determined to keep her under heel.

Here’s Apple’s description of the show, per the latest trailer:

Dickinson is a half-hour comedy series starring Oscar® nominee Hailee Steinfeld. Created by Alena Smith, Dickinson audaciously explores the constraints of society, gender, and family from the perspective of rebellious young poet Emily Dickinson.

And check out the “Immortality” trailer just below:

Dickinson also stars Jane Krakowski, Toby Huss, Ella Hunt, Wiz Khalifa, and others. The series was created, written, and executive produced by Alena Smith. Steinfeld will also be serving as an executive producer of the series.

What do you think of the trailer? This is the latest official trailer for the show — we saw the “Afterlife” trailer not too long ago. This continues to be billed as a comedy series, and some early trailers have indeed shown off the laughs that will be baked into the show. However, this particular trailer leans pretty heavily into the more dramatic elements of the show.

That’s not a bad thing by any means, but it will be interesting to see how folks engage with the show depending on the type of trailer they see beforehand. Will they be expecting a show that offers more jokes than what this trailer might suggest will be present?

Ton is important! We will get to see how it all works out when Dickinson goes live on Apple TV+ on November 1. The subscription service will cost $4.99 per month after it goes live, unless you buy a new Apple device that can stream Apple TV+, in which case you’ll get a year’s worth of service for free.

Are you looking forward to Dickinson?
