Apple releases macOS Mojave 10.14.6 Supplemental Update 2

MacOS Mojave Dark Mode

In July of this year, Apple officially released macOS Mojave 10.14.6. On August 1, the company released the first supplemental update for the desktop operating system.

Now, more than a month later, and just before the public launch of macOS Catalina, Apple is releasing another supplemental update. Apple has officially released macOS Catalina 10.14.6 Supplemental Update 2 to the public. It’s a free update, and can be started by opening System Preferences –> Software Update and following the instructions on the screen.

As far as what’s new in this software update, that remains to be seen. As the name suggests, this is likely a minor update and will primarily focus on fixing behind-the-scenes issues that have cropped up since the launch of the first supplemental update earlier this year.

That aforementioned first supplemental update fixed a persistent bug in the desktop OS that would cause some Macs to refuse to wake up from sleep properly.

Looking ahead, macOS Catalina is set to launch sometime in the near future.
