Sileo v1.3.1 released, now uses ‘zsh’ for package installations

The Sileo Team released another update for the Sileo package manager Sunday evening, this time bringing it up to version 1.3.1.

The announcement was shared via the Sileo Team’s Twitter page just a couple of hours ago, and as it would seem, the update switches to zsh as the default shell for installing packages on jailbroken handsets:

It isn’t clear why the Sileo Team is switching to zsh, but given all the recent updates to the Sileo in terms of Swift-centric rewrites, we can only assume that zsh offers new performance and reliability improvements over the previous shell that better suit the Sileo Team’s needs.

Sileo v1.3.1 is available to all Chimera and Electra users and is available via the default installed repository on each respective jailbreak. Sileo is not yet officially available for the unc0ver jailbreak, but those with non-jailbroken devices can side-load a Sileo Demo to see what it’s all about and/or use it as a repository browser.
