tvOS 12.1.1 beta 4 for Apple TV now available

A fourth beta of the upcoming bug-fix tvOS 12.1.1 software update for the fourth and fifth-generation Apple TV is now available for developer testing. The over-the-air update with build number 16K5045a can be downloaded and installed on your Apple TV by using Apple’s standard Software Update mechanism within the Settings app. The standalone installer is available through Apple’s Development Center portal.

Apple’s changelog doesn’t mention any new features in beta 4.

The new beta came following the mid-November release of tvOS 12.1.1 beta 3. Apple first began testing the upcoming tvOS 12.1.1 software about a month ago. tvOS 12.1, the first major update since tvOS 12.0’s arrival in September 2018, released for public consumption on October 30 with general performance and stability improvements.

The initial tvOS 12.0 software also was light on new features, bringing support for Dolby Atmos to Apple TV 4K, plus perks like new Aerials shot from space, Autofill passwords and the ability to Siri on Apple TV to play a sound on an iOS device to help you find it.

Apple yesterday pushed a fourth beta of macOS Mojave 10.14.2 to developers.
