When you get up in the morning, you don’t have to flip through channels or apps to see what your day looks like. To see the weather, news, calendar events, stocks, and more, just pop on your Apple TV and the DayView app .
The DayView – Personal Dashboard gives you everything you need to start your day.
What DayView gives you
When you install DayView on Apple TV, the app has default widgets set up for you. You’ll see the current weather, time and date, and commute distance across the top.
Below that, you have news headlines, your calendar events, and stocks.
This is terrific, but the nice thing is, that you can change these widgets to suit your needs.
Click Customize on the top left of the screen and then choose the widget you want to change. You’ll then see a collection of widgets available that you can swap out. So, if you’d rather see what’s trending on Twitter instead of the Stocks, just switch them.
In addition to the widgets, you can change the wallpaper for the app from eight attractive photos.
Some of the widgets themselves are also customizable:
- Weather: Switch to Celsius instead of Fahrenheit.
- Time: Adjust to a 24-hour clock.
- Commute: Change the destination or switch it to walking.
- News: Choose a source from New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Time, or a few others.
- Calendar: Sign in to get your Google Calendar events.
- Stocks: Add or remove stock symbols
DayView is available for free on Apple TV.
Wrapping it up
The DayView – Personal Dashboard makes a nice addition to your Apple TV. You can just leave it on the screen and the widgets will all refresh automatically. Plus, you don’t have to flip through weather and new channels or your calendar app and map for your commute time. It’s all right there for you.
