This week’s edition of our Apps of the Week roundup features a new type of social network that revolves around mutual connections, a digital time capsule of sorts, and an app for learning new skills. And as always, we’ve selected two great new games for you to check out.
Ohana
Meeting new people that can turn into important friendships can be hard. One great way of meeting new people is through mutual friends, but unfortunately, that doesn’t happen too often. That’s where Ohana comes in. The app makes it easier by connecting you to those who have mutual friends and allowing you to share fun messages and photos with each other.
Lovbox
Lovbox is a date-focused collection app where you can store beautiful photos and reminisce about precious moments you’ve shared with your loved ones. Features include photo collection, caption areas for you to jot down your feelings and other notes about the images, and reminders for important dates like birthdays. There’s nothing groundbreaking here, but playing around with this might just make you smile.
Jumprope
Jumprope helps you discover how to do something new from inspiring creators who love to show off their craft. Tap through step-by-step guides for everything from makeup to cooking, fitness, crafts and more. Plus if you know how to do something, you can upload your own tutorials. I feel like we’ve seen a few apps like this in the past, but honestly the more of them, the better.
Pivotol
Welcome to Pivotol, the stylish infinite block puzzle game with a twist! Pivotol has an elegant design and simple rules, but that simplicity leads to immensely satisfying and infinitely enjoyable gameplay. Just press and swipe on any pivot to rotate the surrounding blocks, and connect 6 or more blocks of the same color to destroy them.
Warplanes: WW2 Dogfight
Hop into the cockpit of a warplane and jump into the battlefields of World War 2 in this thrilling combat flight action game. It features over 30 historical planes, intuitive controls with user-friendly flight mechanics, beautiful 3D graphics and much more. And not only do you fly planes, but you must also manage your base—buy planes, recruit and train pilots, etc.
