This week’s edition of our Apps of the Week roundup includes a fun conversational app, a digital photo assistant, and a new group messaging experience. And as always, we’ve selected two great new games for you to check out.
Whatcha
Whatcha is a fun app that helps you discover interesting topics and questions, allowing you to enter a poll to vote for the best answers. Want to become an opinion leader? Try posting your own challenging or fun questions and share them to see who can come up with the most clever answers. Topics include everything from sports to movies, history, music, and even logic.
Pufful
Have you ever wanted to add filters or effects to your photos, but you weren’t sure where to start? That’s where Pufful comes in. You can simply just tell the app what you are taking a photo of—i.e. “I’m in the mountains”—and it will help you select the best filter for your photos. It’s not perfect and the grammar could use some work, but it’s a great concept and worth checking out.
Yahoo Together
Yahoo Together is exactly what it sounds like—a group messaging app backed by the infamous tech giant. It’s fully loaded with features like reminders, custom reactions, attachments, mute and more to help you stay organized and engaged. Invites are sent as web links, so you don’t ever have to share your contacts, and the Blasts feature lets you send out mass messages.
Zentris
Zentris is a very minimal, zen puzzle game in which you must connect tiles to form at least one full line or column to clear your desk. It’s simple, yet challenging and quick to pick-up-and-play. If you’re a fan of relaxing puzzlers, this one is a must-try.
True Surf
True Surf is the world’s most authentic surfing game. It offers 21 of the best surf breaks driven by True Axis’ real world physics simulation engine and is powered by live Surfline weather forecasts. Features include realistic touch based controls, custom, evolvable characters, a bounty of surfing equipment to choose from, and a world surf league to test your skills. Contains several IAPs.
