iPhone ads

Apple on Friday aired a 60-second video advertisement featuring its latest iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max handsets, showcasing their key features like bigger displays and better cameras.

“Everything you love just got bigger,” reads the video’s description. “Introducing iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. Super Retina in two sizes, including the largest display on an iPhone ever.”

As a refresher,  the second-generation iPhone XS has a 5.8-inch Super Retina display, like the original iPhone X, and the new iPhone XS Max features a massive 6.50-inch display in a body that’s a bit smaller than Plus-sized iPhones.

Interestingly, the ad makes no direct mention of a new Smart HDR feature which uses hardware-assisted machine learning stemming from the power of the A12 Bionic chip and its Neural engine to boost computational photography algorithms, resulting in great low-light images, better color overall and more highlight and shadow detail in your photos.

In fact, Smart HDR is so good that these new phones default to HDR imaging for both the rear and front-facing camera “when it’s most effective.” As our tutorial explains, you can turn off Smart HDR at will and switch to manual mode.
