Cut the Rope’s Om Nom is getting its own virtual pet app next Thursday

As noted by TouchArcade, Om Nom, the cutesy protagonist of the Cut the Rope series of puzzle games, is getting its own virtual pet app soon. Developer ZeptoLabs is reportedly aiming to release the forthcoming virtual pet simulator app in the App Store as soon as next week.

You’ll be expected to attend to your candy-loving monster’s daily needs by playing with him, feeding him sweeties, keeping him happy and more.

Noting that the official website features a quiz that, when completed, says “Your very own Om Nom will arrive in 10 days,” TouchArcade made an educated guess that the game is set to launch next Thursday, December 18, especially given the December 22-29 App Store holiday freeze.

Check out this short teaser for My Om Nom.

And for the first time ever, Om Nom will be joined by a little candy-eating monster girl called Om Nelle.

Cut the Rope series has marked a huge success for the Russian developer: collectively, these games have been downloaded more than 400 million times to date and are available across a variety of major platforms including iOS, Android, OS X, Nintendo DSi, Nintendo 3DS and even on the web an HTML5 app running in a desktop browser.

Back in September 2012, ZeptoLabs announced licensing and merchandising partnerships for the popular character so we’re not surprised that Om Nom is getting its own pet simulator game.
