Newly updated Pushpins lets you share shopping lists across devices

Pushpins 1I hate grocery shopping. I’ll put it off until I’m scraping together a dinner out of sliced cheese, stale corn chips, and a half-eaten burrito. The one thing that makes grocery shopping a little less irritating is having a well-organized list that allows you to get in and get out.

Pushpins is a recently updated grocery shopping app that lets you create a list of brand name products, find coupons from stores in your neighborhood, and share your list with others with very little effort…

Users can build a shopping list by browsing more than 200,000 pre-existing grocery products. You can sync and share your lists with others over iOS and Android. Use Pushpins as a “Passport” wallet to contain loyalty card digital coupons and get the best deals available on your mobile device. You can even search through thousands of recipes inside the app and add ingredients to your shopping list.

The basic grocery list lets you search by name, category, and brand, or by scanning a barcode to bring up the item from the in-app database. Then, set the item quantity, price, pack size, and add notes. You can save favorite items to find them faster next time you create a grocery list. Share your list by sending it through AirDrop, email, SMS, or by automatically syncing it with Pushpins on another user’s device.

To look up savings at nearby stores, tap the Coupons tab. A list of available specials in grocery stores in your neighborhood will appear. If you have a loyalty card for a particular store, you can add the digital coupon right from within the app. Adding a loyalty card is as easy as typing in your account number or even scanning your card’s UPC code.

If you can’t think of what to make for dinner, try browsing through a half million recipes from within the app, Filter recipe options by cuisine, dish type (appetizers, side dishes, main course, etc.), and dietary restrictions (vegetarian, vegan, allergies, etc.). Each recipe includes nutritional facts so you know how many calories you’ll be eating. When you find a recipe that looks yummy, add the ingredients to your shopping list by selecting it from the recipe.

If you are in an unfamiliar neighborhood and need to buy some groceries, check the store locator to find one close to you. The app will generate a list of stores within two miles.

Pushpins is free and available now. Download it in the App Store today.

If you could create your own shopping list app, what would it include? Do you have a favorite app for shopping already?
