Fruit Ninja creators tease new game ‘Colossatron: Massive World Threat’

Gamers will be happy to hear that Halfbrick, the creators of popular iOS titles like Fruit Ninja and Jetpack Joyride, have a new game coming out. The studio made quite a bit of commotion when it made the announcement yesterday at PAX Australia.

The game is called Colossatron: Massive World Threat, and it’s a tower defense-esque title that has you managing a massive robotic snake known as the—you guessed it—Colossatron. And you essentially have one goal: destroy as much stuff as you can…

Here’s a gameplay trailer (via TouchArcade):

Most of the game involves you attaching power nodes to your snake and surviving General Moustache’s military onslaught. You actually don’t control the snake itself, you just kind of build it up by playing a tetris/matching-type game with colored power nodes.

Colossatron: Massive World Threat is still in heavy development, and Halfbrick has been very vague with details. It’s been demoing the game on an iPad, but price range and other confirmed platforms are not yet known. It’s expected to launch later this year.

So, what do you think of Halfbrick’s new game?
