Flipping Through the Pages on an iPad eBook, Just Like You Do on a Real Book

Apple's recent release of iBooks 2 has truly revolutionized the textbook industry, but the multi-touch experience in iBooks could use some major improvements. As it stands, Apple's official eBook app is limited to one basic swiping motion between pages. The KAIST Institute of Information Technology Convergence's new patented multi-touch interface for eBooks, on the other hand, is quite the contrary.

The prototype has several new multi-touch gestures that allow for you to flip through pages, bookmark with your fingers, turn through multiple pages at once, write page numbers, and more. You have to watch the video demonstration for yourself...

Rumor: More Claims of a 4-inch Screen for the iPhone 5

Rumors are very much part of the Apple culture, and nothing garners more speculation than the iPhone. We're only a few months into the life cycle of the iPhone 4S, but we are already in the realms of both the sublime and the ridiculous when it comes to rumors for what will become of the iPhone 5.

The biggest rumor that just will not die is one that suggests the next generation iPhone will come with a new, larger screen. With a 4-inch part being rumored strongly, a new analyst has joined the discussion, although they are apparently unwilling to share who their sources are.

Pinch of salt in hand with this one then...

Add AirPlay to any TV with a $35 Mini Computer

AirPlay is possibly one of the unsung heroes of the iOS world, and if you own an iOS device and an Apple TV, then you really should be taking advantage of it. If you don't have an Apple TV then there may just be another option on the table.

Using a Raspberry Pi computer, it is actually possible to create your very own HDMI-enabled AirPlay-receiving machine which is so small you'll almost forget it's there.

Did we mention the whole thing costs just $35? Oh, that too...

This is Why iPhones Are Made in China

In a recent report from the New York Times, the newspaper gives us great detail about why Apple outsources iPhone manufacturing to China, and how Steve Jobs changed the iPhone 2G weeks before the release.

The report features many short stories from Apple employees who give first-hand accounts of why Apple decided to move their manufacturing overseas. The article also gives a very interesting look of President Obama's Silicon Valley Dinner back in February of last year . At the dinner, many Silicon Valley executives attended, including Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg.

Many executives were able to ask President Obama questions. While Steve Jobs was talking, President Obama interrupted him and asked him "what would it take to make iPhones in the United States?" Steve Jobs simply replied with "Those jobs aren’t coming back".
