PDF Converter Turns Documents into PDFs on Your iPad

Wouldn't it be nice to be able to take an existing Pages or Numbers document and convert it into a PDF right on our iPad, making it readable on just about any device you could possibly want to send it to?

Unfortunately, though, the iPad doesn't currently support the ability to print to a PDF- a feature we half-expected Apple to add alongside the bungled release of AirPrint.

As an aside, does anyone actually use AirPrint? If you do, we'd love to hear why and when you make use of this little known and rarely used feature, in the comments!

Witricity: Could This be the Way Future iDevices Charge?

A few days ago, we mentioned that The Wall Street Journal and other publications were noting that Apple was working on a new way to charge iDevices. From the details, it sounded like some form of inductive method, similar to Palm's Touchstone charger.

However, MacRumors has discovered something interesting in a recently-revealed patent application that suggests the Cupertino company might be going a different route. Have you ever heard of WiTricity? 

Sn0wBreeze Updated for iOS 5 Beta 3 to Fix Problem with Apps Crashing

Apple released iOS 5 Beta 3 yesterday, and it was quickly confirmed that you could jailbreak Apple's newest beta build with last month's version of the popular jailbreaking tool, RedSn0w. A "sandboxing" error was discovered after jailbreak iOS 5 Beta 3 that caused all apps from the App Store to crash instantly upon being opened.

This problem has now been fixed in the updated version of the Windows jailbreak tool, Sn0wBreeze, and the Dev Team has also updated RedSn0w with the same fix. Happy jailbreaking!

Jailbreak App iMAME4All Adds iCade Support

Remember when we told you about the iCade? The retro iPad accessory lets you play select iOS games via a set of arcade-style controls, and its SDK just became available for 3rd party development. It looks like the jailbreak community struck first.

Engadget is reporting that the popular Cydia app known as iMAME4All was just updated to support the new tablet accessory. iMAME4All is an emulator that plays hundreds of retro titles, so needless to say it would be an awesome fit for the iCade...

RedSn0w 0.9.8 Beta 2 Fixes Issues with iOS 5 Beta 3 Jailbreak

Earlier today when Apple released iOS 5 beta 3, the news quickly came out that you could use the latest version of RedSn0w to jailbreak the new beta firmware. Indeed, by pointing RedSn0w to iOS 5 beta 1, you are able to jailbreak beta 3.

However, an unexpected issue rapidly surfaced. After jailbreaking iOS 5 beta 3 with RedSn0w, it appeared that some App Store applications were not running properly. The Dev Team was quick to fix this issue and just released RedSn0w 0.9.8 beta 2...

Jailbreaking iOS 5 Beta 3 Will Cause Apps from the App Store to Not Work

iOS 5 Beta 3 has been out for barely half a day, and it's already been confirmed that you can jailbreak Apple's latest beta release with RedSn0w. That's good news for jailbreakers, even if it is only a tethered jailbreak.

Don't get too excited, though. Because it seems that jailbreaking iOS 5 Beta 3 will result in you no longer being able to run apps from the App Store...

20 New Tones Available in iOS 5 Beta 3 [Updated]

Apple released iOS 5 Beta 3 earlier today, and as usual when a new build is available, we are tracking down every cool new feature. I just found out about this new one while playing around the Settings app for my iPad.

If you go to Settings > General > Sounds and select "Text Tone," for example, you will be offered many more tones to choose from. I'm not 100% sure how many of these tones are new. but it seems to me that iOS 5 Beta 3 gives us access to 20 more tones...

Cydia Upgrade Fixes JailbreakMe Bugs and Camera Connection Kit Issue

Those of you who have been experiencing bugs after using JailbreakMe will be glad to find out that Comex made some fixes to the kernel patches for the userland jailbreak, and these fixes have been pushed as an "Essential Upgrade" in Cydia.

To get this update, simply launch Cydia and you should be prompted to upgrade. Make sure you do not run JailbreakMe again over your current jailbreak. Instead, let Cydia do the job for you...

RedSn0w Can Jailbreak iOS 5 Beta 3

Good news for jailbreakers who happen to have a legit (or not) developer account and want to jailbreak the latest iOS 5 beta 3 firmware released earlier today. According to a tweet from MuscleNerd a few minutes ago, you can use RedSn0w to jailbreak iOS 5 beta 3.

In order to jailbreak your iDevice running iOS 5 beta 3, you will need to download the latest version of RedSn0w which was released about a month ago. All you need to do is point RedSnow to iOS 5 beta 1, instead of pointing it to beta 3...
