Amazon offering Logitech’s PowerShell iOS 7 controller for $50 with free shipping

Logitech's PowerShell iOS 7 controller has been heavily criticized for its high launch price ($99) and there have been some complaints about build quality and features. But if you're serious about iOS gaming, you should consider this accessory as a worthy first entrant into the iOS 7 controller market.

Gamers who have been on the lookout for a nice deal on the PowerShell are in for a treat as Amazon is currently offering the accessory for just $49.99, with free shipping included. That's a nice 29 percent discount over the online retailer's normal asking price of $69.99 and a cool $50 savings from its suggested (and rather insane) retail price of ninety-nine bucks...

How to view ‘Most Recent’ feed in Facebook 10.0 for iOS

Facebook for iOS was recently updated to version 10.0 with several improvements, including a faster news feed and the ability to draft posts without an internet connection. The option to switch the news feed to "most recent" view, which displays the latest posts in reverse chronological order, was also hidden within the settings of the social networking app. By default, the app now displays posts based on a "most popular" setup. If that isn't your preference, there is no need to be worried. Here is an extremely simple tip for how to switch back to the "most recent" feed on Facebook…

Pioneer video shows off aftermarket CarPlay kit

Pioneer last month announced five aftermarket options aimed at enabling CarPlay on older vehicles, with Apple confirming both Pioneer and Alpine aftermarket CarPlay integration coming later this year.

Today, the Japanese company has shown off how Apple's in-car solution works in tandem with its NEX dash systems and we have a video right after he jump. Just like native CarPlay integration, customers simply plug in their handset and the NEX hardware then takes over and displays CarPlay interface on a built-in capacitive touchscreen (still a rarity in aftermarket systems)...

How to play Habbo on iPhone or iPad

Habbo is a popular online community based upon a virtual hotel where you can create a character, decorate rooms with virtual furniture, chat with others, play mini-games, organize events and more. Sulake launched the game in Finland in 2000 and has since expanded it to Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, United States and other regions over the past decade. On the desktop, it was originally a Shockwave-based game that has since transitioned to Adobe Flash.

As you probably know, Adobe Flash has never been supported on the iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. In fact, over four years ago, Steve Jobs published an article called Thoughts on Flash to explain why Apple is so inexplicably against supporting the platform on its iOS devices. As such, it is impossible to play Habbo through Safari by traditional means. That is no reason to be worried, however, as there are actually a few options for playing Habbo on an iPhone or iPad. Take a look…

iOS 7: the ultimate Notes app guide

The Notes app is a stock application for the iPhone that allows you to jot down quick notes on a whim. It’s a fast running app with low overhead that's perfect for saving a random note or thought.

There are, of course, far more powerful note-taking options available on the App Store. Apps like Day One, and my favorite, Evernote, quickly come to mind. But what the stock Notes app lacks in features, it makes up for with its speed, efficiency, and ease of use. It’s a no-nonsense tool that makes taking notes a cinch.

After the break, we’ll cover the stock Notes app inside and out. Thought you knew everything that there was to know about the Notes app? Have a look inside for the details.

iOS bug leaves email attachments unencrypted, Apple working on a fix

Do you access sensitive document attachments on your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad, stuff like contracts, invoices, bank statements and what not?

If so, your security and privacy could be compromised because iOS is storing email attachments in the clear - that is, in the unencrypted form - thus making stored attachments easily readable by using a piece of software to browse a person's on-device email folder for an IMAP account.

A researcher who claims to have discovered this security flaw has found that iOS 7.0.4 and later - including the latest iOS 7.1.1 - do not encrypt email attachments...

iOS 7: the ultimate Weather app guide

The stock Weather app is a simple pre-installed application that utilizes weather data from Yahoo. The Weather app makes it easy to quickly view weather conditions and forecasts for a variety of locations at once. It feature location awareness, meaning it can dynamically update to reflect weather conditions in your current area, even when jet-setting across the country or the world.

The Weather app isn't the most robust or feature-filled app on the block, but it's good enough to get you by in a pinch. Have a look as we walk through each of the features available in this stock application.

Purported iPhone 6 case theorizes how thin next-gen iPhone could be

On par with the launch of any device from Apple, third-party case makers have taken rumors, maybe a little insider knowledge, and some guessing to theorize what the design of the next-generation iPhone could be, long before the launch.

YouTube channel Unbox Therapy got its hands on one of these cases floating around, and compared it alongside the iPhone 5s and iPod touch. The striking factor for the purported iPhone 6 case wasn't the height difference, but that its thinness matched up with the iPod touch, perfectly.

Top Apple execs Eddy Cue and Craig Federighi speaking at Code Conference

Top Apple executives Eddy Cue and Craig Federighi will headline the second night of Recode's Code Conference in May, joining an already high profile lineup including General Motors CEO Mary Barra, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Hollywood mogul Ryan Seacrest.

Apple executives rarely make an appearance at events outside of those officially held by Apple, however, Walt Mossberg and Kara Swisher, formerly of the D Conference, obviously have a secret to doing it. The two have interviewed Apple co-founder Steve Jobs several times, including once alongside Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, and most recently interviewed CEO Tim Cook.
