Mimir demo

Yesterday, we brought you a full review of a hot new jailbreak tweak called Mirmir (formerly Mimir). This is a new tweak that allows you to have true side-by-side windowed multitasking on jailbroken iPhones and iPads running iOS 8.3 or iOS 8.4.

If you’d like to try Mirmir, you can get it today for $3.99 on Cydia’s BigBoss repo. Watch our video review in this post if you’d like more info before you buy.

In our Mirmir review we alluded to the fact that this tweak runs best on the iPad Air 2, since it has the RAM needed to deal with multiple app windows. I was able to run it on my 6 Plus, but not without slowdown and a little processor heat.

Will you buy Mirmir? If so, how do you plan on putting it to use?

  • Ángel Javier Esquivel

First, I’ll wait for TaiG to release a Mac version of their tool

    • William Melendez

Virtually tends to work : )

    • Mark S

Yeah about that, don’t hold your breath.

    • edwin tobias

    • Blip dude

Don’t mean to come off as a jerk but. . . LMAO!!! Have fun with that!!

    • iPhoneWINS

jailbreaks don’t get mac versions anymore cause apple keep updating IOS to fast..lol

      • Out5poken

        Huh!?!? :-s

    • Ángel Javier Esquivel

:/ Then I have to do it in another computer

  • Deep Down

What’s a good replacement for Auxo 3 since it’s basically dead.

    • Gabriel Anaya

Auxo legacy works fine. If not, then maybe Tage.

      • White Michael Jackson

For some reason the responsiveness is too sensitive. I accidently close apps while im trying to scroll through the app switcher

      • Elle

You can change the responsiveness (sensitivity) in Tage

      • Al

Heck.. I use both. Work perfectly together.. Tage settings : Left Side-Do Nothing, Middle Side-Do Nothing, Right Side-Close App.

I use the double home button to invoke ALE by using CC via Activator.

    • Shingo

      whats happened? the A3tweaks gone?

      • Blip dude

Pff, were they ever really around to begin with?? They would appear, release a new tweak and then disappear. Their customer support is as *****y as IntelliscreenX support. Maybe if people start harassing them on their Twitter page long enough we may see one more update for Auxo 3 but again, don’t hold your breath. They have a record of abandoning tweaks right after initial release. I really hope this no longer promotes them, but I won’t be holding my breath on that either.

      • Shingo

intelliscreen just updated tho…….maybe they will update if its like this situation 8.4 not 8.3, somethings that goes long

    • AwesomeRob

      Auxo 3 is updated!

  • Lamoni Woulard

It was making my phone really hot. I had to remove it. Is it just me?

    • iFlasher

For me too. I also found a lot of bugs, but it is obvious since it is the first version.

    • Derrik Reichard

No mine was running hot as well

    • Mine too and it killllled my battery really quickly.

    • singhay559

What you expect? It uses more ram n cpu processing. The iPhone uses a 20 nm cpu n only 1 gig of ram which is not enough. Forcing more cpu usage and draining more battery. I would stick with reach app or wait till its been updated to use less cpu and ram before you need a new battery lol

  • droid3000

i couldnt get it to drag down the notification centre when i was using the tweak

    • Derrik Reichard

      Same here

      • Zuhair Aslam

Just hard reset the phone. It started working like a charm for me

    • Zuhair Aslam

Just hard reset the phone. It started working like a charm for me!

  • Jarlson

I believe the tweak is called Mirmir, not Mimir.

    • Kevin Chen

But the settings panel clearly says “Mimir”. It’s probably a typo when publishing it to Cydia calling it “Mirmir”.

    • I explained the issue in the post.

  • RyleyLamarsh

I can smell my battery burning

  • Jamie Riley

I really liked OS Experience on iOS 7. It radically changed the app switching and gestures, and the way it replaced the switcher was slow and clunky. But it was worth it to have Windows dwm/OS X Hyperdock functionality. I tried Reach App and Multify. I find neither to suit my needs on on iPad. Mostly with issues of insisting on displaying the second app the opposite of my screen orientation. And Multify was a nightmare to even initiate and manage the two apps. I’ll give this one a try. It’s music creation apps I need multi window multitasking for. Things like being able to play an instrument while manipulating another app for reverb and other audio FX. So simply having two side by side windows is a huge plus and game changer for these types of apps.

  • n0m0n

I can’t seem to pitch to resize neither small or large.
    Just me?

    • Zuhair Aslam

I can, you have to tap on the app name while you are in multitasking mode and a plus, a minus and a X sign should appear. From there just pinch and resize it however you’d like 😀

  • Varun Soi

This tweak heats up my iphone so much!

  • Blip dude

As I mentioned before, PASS!! Let us know when Multify gets updated!! For now, I’m fine without any multitasking tweaks, and before anyone ask, I don’t like Reachapp.

    • Luciano Horta

      That’s YOU. lol

  • Lucas Rey

DAMN! Getting crazy after purchasing/install/respring this tweak, then the springboard crash after I opened every app. Developers doesn’t reply to my mail….
Most probably is an incompatibility with another tweak, but which one?

    • Zuhair Aslam

No crashing here, must be an incompatibility another tweak(s). Try a hard reset maybe? Also get “CrashReporter” from Cydia, it’ll tell what apps or tweaks caused the device to crash.

      • Lucas Rey

Hard Reset is not an option from my side since my iPhone 6+ 8.3 works perfect and is very stable 🙂
I used CrashReporter in the past but never got usefull informations from it. There should be one or more tweaks I installed (most probably someone who interact with springboard)… I’ll wait for MiMir update and in the mean time I’ll try to disable/uninstall the tweaks one by one to discover who is the responsible.

  • Avishai Shushan

Hay. I need help after I am jailbroken my iPhone handoff hotspot don’t working to me. I am install crash reporter and this is the problem. It’s happens on iOS 8.3 and 8.4. Also to my friend.
Sorry about the bad English. And thanks for the help.

What’s the point. iOS 9 will be out soon. That’s why I don’t want to jailbreak because then I’ll miss the tweaks. But you can’t miss what you’ve never had. So sticking with stock and saving money at the same time.

    • iPhoneWINS

you won’t have multi tasking on your iPhone with IOS9..lol

    • Toon

you are wise guy Bob.. maybe nit boring ?

      • Bob

        I don’t understand your comment.

  • Toon

it looks nice but i don’t think its functional, takes too much time to arrange, same as Reachall tweak

  • leart

    it says mirmir 🙂

  • iPhoneWINS

i installed this tweak and it is amazing!!!!!! smooth and perfect

  • Dale

This tweak is kind of cool even works on a Iphone 5…. right on diffidently has possibilities..

  • asdlb4

Not the best experience. It seems like a great app from the video, but in reality there are still some poorly thought out design problems. Here’s a couple I noticed right away: 1) When you have multiple apps open you can’t always bring one to the front with a simple tap, and if it works it is usually laggy and slow. 2) When you minimize a window (-) and then maximize it again (+) it goes back to full screen instead of the same size it was before you minimized it. Then you have to swipe down to re-activate the floating app. It’s very awkward. 3) By all means, don’t accidentally zoom your drag handle off of the screen. If you do you will need to completely kill the app and start over. If there was a way to try an app and get a refund if you don’t like it (like on the play store), I would ask for my money back because I’m really not happy with the app. So, the best I can do, it hope the developer makes an effort to fix some of these issues.

    • Etzio Aldetori

agree with you , if they make it like first tap to bring the app , second tap to start using it would make it easier to use ,also when you press home button if the apps go blurry to open another app that would be better cuz its hard to open any app from home screen when there are other apps minimized . you can see the icons.

  • n0m0n

Can anyone tell me why the icon for the tweak/app that is installed on the home screen doesn’t appear in icon hide section in Springtime?

I normally like to hide all references to jailbreak tweaks/apps on my springboards, and add them to a tweak called Dock that can be called up by a Activator gesture.

  • Luciano Horta

It would be great and smooth on Ipad 3 or 4 ???? .. I don’t have a budget to buy the Ipad AIR right now…
