How to hide the stock Mail app’s VIP folder

NoVIP

The stock Mail app features a VIP folder that lets you to designate specific contacts as VIPs. This allows you to separate important email from all of the rest. But not everyone uses the VIP feature, and there’s no way to disable the feature within the Mail app’s settings. That’s where NoVIP steps in to save the day. It’s a free jailbreak tweak that allows you to outright hide the Mail App’s VIP folder. Check inside for a video demonstration of.

Once installed, there are no options or settings to configure, just install it and go. I do wish there was a kill switch feature to be found in the Settings app, but there isn’t one to be found in this initial version of the tweak.

NoVIP can be downloaded for free from Cydia’s ModMyi repo. Share your thoughts about it in the comments below.

There is a kill switch in ios 7. Tap edit in mail and uncheck it.

For a tweak this simple, why would you want a kill switch? It would just clutter up Settings.app to have a single-function tweak have an on/off switch. The kill switch is to uninstall.

I found this useful, I don’t have anyone important enough to sort them out of the main mail folders, so this is nice to have.
