Rag3Hack is at it again. Hot on the heels of his non-jailbreak solution for hiding stock iOS apps, comes a new trick that allows you to hide the status bar in Safari. This is useful because it allows you to gain more screen real estate since there’s no full screen mode in portrait mode.

Take a look at our video demonstration inside for more details on Rag3Hack’s latest…

If you’re interested in hiding your Safari status bar, simply head over to this website via your iOS device.

After you’re ready to regain your status bar, all you have to do is kill Safari and restart it to do so.

As always, we can’t technically recommend that you do this, so proceed at your own risk. That being said, I tried it myself, and it worked well for me.

Have you tried it?

  • It took 2 taps on the link but it worked, nice work around, too bad it doesn’t work in Chrome…..

    • Safari in iOS 6 is much faster than Chrome. Do the tests. No joke.

  • DomPerignon1

Really? Do you think that I am going to allow a hacker’s server into my iPhone 5?

Jeff, you should stop recommending this type of tweaks. Really.

    • Peter Li

a hacker’s server? get your vocabulary straight, ty

      • DomPerignon1

All right, please change “hacker’s server” for “somebody’s, that I don’t trust, server” Are you happy now?

      • DomPerignon1

Really? The guy’s name is “Rag3Hack.” I wonder if the word hack is related to the word hacker.

    • Ragemasta

Sorry not a hacker or doing anything malicous

      • DomPerignon1

OK fair enough, but I don’t trust you.

      • Ronald Weaver

And people wonder why hackers don’t give a shit about providing the community with jailbreaks. Who wants to work hard for ignorant people like you.

      • Ronald Weaver

Please don’t mind this guy. There are many who apreciate your hard work. thanks

    • No Whammy

He specifically says he doesn’t recommend it. Meanwhile, I recommend you kill yourself.

      • DomPerignon1

Sure, I will. After I’m done with you and your mother, so bend over.

      • No Whammy

        Necrophiliac says what.

      • Ronald Weaver

Your a ASS! I bet you dont even own a iphone 5. You just wanna bitch because you thought you had a legitimate excuse to wine about something. Dumb ASS

    • A server can’t get “into” your phone. In fact, looking at the code of the hack, it’s simply playing a 2 second video and at the same time making Safari go back to the previous page, i.e. taking advantage of a bug – nothing malicious.

      • DomPerignon1

Thank you for clarifying, but not always this is the case.

  • “screen my go black for 10 seconds”…. I wouldn’t recommend doing this

    • Aleksander Azizi

It will only go black because it is playing a video, nothing dangerous 😉

      • Jeff

        Bingo.

  • Kool tweak .. Got to give it to this guy …

    • Guest

      Thank You 🙂

  • AARON

its something like an exploit ?? can we use this method to do other things like jailbreaking??

    • Aleksander Azizi

      No, sorry 🙁

  • Andrew Weissman

It works, but when I put my iPod Touch in Fullscreen Landscape orientation and then back to Portrait orientation, it reappeared…

  • marco1993

all these tweaks coming out with no jailbreak required tend to make jailbreaking more and more irrelevant nowadays

    • BearManPig

So you’re saying some 3 o 4 mostly useless tweaks without jailbreaking make the over 30 awesome tweaks and apps i have installed on cydia irrelevant?

  • it doesnt work on my ipod touch 4g

  • It doesn’t work for me. I tried it on my old iPhone 3GS. it just goes back to the previous page.

  • i already used thus website on my ipad to hide some apps but now my email and photos app disappeared completely! >:(

  • Aleksander Azizi

    To clarify;
This ONLY workes on iOS 6.
It is tested on iPhone 4s and 5 (by the developers) and workes 100%.
