AppCent is a new jailbreak tweak that adds a percentage value beneath the app currently being installed on your iOS device. It’s a very simple tweak, and for smaller sized apps you probably won’t derive much value, but it’s nice to have for larger apps that take a long time to download.

Although a progress bar indicating your download percentage already exists in iOS, there’s something to be said for having actual numerical values that you can see and identify with…

Once installed, there are no settings or options to configure outside of a kill switch located in the Settings app. All you need to do is start downloading apps from the App Store, and you’ll see a numerical percentage beneath the app icon to go along with the normal progress bar.

AppCent can be downloaded for free on Cydia’s ModMyi repo. Let us know what you think about it in the comments below.

i like it, to bad they dont add some type of banner to tell us its new like ios6.

    • give it a few more weeks. we’ll see all sorts of ios 6 inspired tweaks coming out. to the point where we won’t even bother wanting to upgrade when it’s time……until an ios 6 untether comes out of course 🙂

      • jocastro

lol i rather stay 5.0.1 untethered because most of the tweaks work on there.. well the ones i use.

      • Most of them probably work on 5.1.1 too!

Jeff why don’t you ever use our 4s anymore?

    • thats because 4s doesnt have a jailbreak in ios 6

  • Aric Bolf

It’s cute but doesn’t add anything. The progress bar is enough for me as i can tell where it’s at and that it isn’t done yet.

This little tweak looks nice but it is absolutely unnecessary.

it’s a nice idea, but I try to use the last number of tweaks possible, not going to install this. On an iPhone 4S, I wouldn’t hesitate.

  • Great tweak. Especially when u are downloading a 1,5GB game on a lame network. 😀

  • Totally unrelated to the story…but is any average schmo, like myself, jail broke on ios6? If so, how? Did I miss a jailbreak?
    Thanks

I like it. It won’t change my life but I like visuals of %

A little ironic the screen cap doesn’t have the % shown for the battery though. 😉

  • anyone else having issues with this tweak on ip5? after respring..it shows ALL app as installing..i have to click the app and it goes away.. i uninstalled the tweak..and it still does it.. 🙁 i emailed the dev.. cant find anything online
