‘iSleepWell’ enables Airplane mode when your iPhone is face down

By , Apr 2, 2012

Don’t you just hate it when you receive an unnecessary phone call or text in the middle of the night and it wakes you up?

Apparently the creators of iSleepWell experienced one too many wakeup calls themselves, hence this new jailbreak tweak.

With iSleepWell installed, your iPhone will monitor its accelerometer to know when it’s placed face down. After a user defined time threshold, your device will be automatically placed into Airplane mode. This in turn prevents phone calls, texts, and other annoyances from disturbing your beauty sleep…

For the most part, iSleepWell works as advertised, though I did encounter a bug or two which the developer says should be fixed in the next update.

If you’re one of those people that feels comfortable being completely detached from your phone, then iSleepWell may be an option for you.

Head over to Cydia’s BigBoss repo where you can download it for $0.99.

What do you think?

Is it really that hard to just turn on airplane mode using SBSettings or ISX quick settings before you go to sleep?

I’ve been using CallController for years, it does something similar.
It’s very practical. You can’t always remember to mute and unmute your phone, but can always see if the phone is upside down.
This way I never forget to mute the phone when I go to sleep, and never forget to turn it back after I wake up.

The app polls the accelerometer every few seconds to be effective.
I tweeted the dev a couple of days ago to ask him about battery drain.
    Still no reply.
