BytaFont 2 is out with support for iOS 7, A7 devices

Adding to our list of popular jailbreak tweaks that have been updated for iOS 7 this morning is BytaFont. The developers announced yesterday that BytaFont 2 is now available in Cydia with support for iOS 7 and A7 devices.

This is great news for folks who like to really customize the UI on their iPhone or iPad, as BytaFont allows you to change the default font in iOS. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like any of the old fonts are compatible with BF 2...

CallBar updated with basic iOS 7, ARM64 support

Since MobileSubstrate was updated to work with iOS 7 and the A7 processor, we've seen a number of major jailbreak tweaks updated to support the new OS and newer devices. And today we're adding another one to the list.

Developer Elias Limneos announced yesterday that he had submitted an update for his popular CallBar tweak to Cydia that features 'basic support' for both iOS 7 and A7 devices. And it looks like the update is now available...

Anki Drive app updated with new weapons, support items and more

Folks who received the Anki Drive for Christmas this year will be happy to hear that the companion app has received a major update today. The new version, which is marked as version 2.1.0, adds an expanded upgrade system, new weapons and much more.

The new weapons include an EMP gun, which lets you shoot other cars as they race along the track, and the new support items include reverse drive, horn and kinetic brake. The update also features other improvements, such as smarter AI and faster upgrades...

TetherMe jailbreak tweak updated with iOS 7, ARM64 support

Good news this afternoon for jailbreakers: another popular tweak has been updated to support iOS 7 and A7 processors. That tweak is called TetherMe, and it allows you to—you guessed it—tether your cellular iOS device to a non-cellular device.

Though it's not mentioned nearly as often as MyWi, its functions are very similar and it's much less expensive. Users can choose to share their iPhone's Internet access with other devices over USB, Bluetooth, or via your standard Wi-Fi hotspot...

Filippo Bigarella gives status update on Springtomize 3

Now that we're able to jailbreak our iOS 7 devices, and MobileSubstrate has been fixed, the next question on everyone's mind is when will the major tweaks start getting updated? A few, like iFile already have, but we're still waiting on a lot of them.

The good news is, we just received a status update on Filippo Bigarella's upcoming Springtomize tweak. The developer says that he's completely rewriting the popular utility for its third iteration, and at this point he believes he's over halfway done...

p0sixspwn updated with fixes for iMessage, LTE and Apple TV 2 support

For those that missed it this morning, p0sixspwn was updated to fix a few major bugs from the previous release. The untethered jailbreak, released for devices on iOS 6.1.3-6.1.5 by winocm and iH8Sn0w, should no longer create issues with iMessage or LTE.

Interestingly enough, the update also adds support for the Apple TV 2 (still no Apple TV 3). So while I don't think you can use it to directly jailbreak the set-top box, it shouldn't be too long before a utility like Seas0nPass takes advantage of the new capability...

Tweetbot for Mac updated with major bug fixes

Popular Twitter client Tweetbot posted an update for its Mac application this weekend, bringing the app to version 1.4.1. The update looks fairly minor on the surface, but it includes a handful of serious bug fixes.

Long-time Tweetbot for Mac users will be happy to hear that the new version finally fixes that pesky issue where you can see "x unread items" but can't scroll up to see them, and various other interface annoyances...

Saurik talks MobileSubstrate, 64-bit jailbreak tweaks and more

The unexpected arrival of an iOS 7 jailbreak has been a welcomed touch to the holidays for most iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users, except for those with the latest devices. The all-new iPhone 5s, iPad Air and second-generation iPad mini, each powered by an Apple A7 chip, have faced compatibility issues with most popular jailbreak tweaks. Thankfully, that shouldn't be the case much longer…

BiteSMS beta 8.0 for iOS 7 is a work-in-progress

While the wait continues for an updated version of MobileSubstrate, following the unexpected release of an iOS 7 jailbreak, the developers of biteSMS are moving ahead with an updated version of the popular jailbreak tweak for iOS 7. BiteSMS beta release 8.0 remains a work-in-progress, and should be seeded to the public in the coming days.

An official post on the biteSMS forums reads:

New report suggests iOS 7.1 may not be released until March

Following the release of iOS 7.1 beta 2 to developers last week, BGR is reporting that Apple has seeded a new build of the software update to carrier partners. It's unclear when Apple will push the new beta to devs, but the site says a public release is still months away.

Citing a 'trusted source,' BGR's Jonathan Geller reports that Apple plans to rollout iOS 7.1 in March of next year. That means we're still a roughly 3 months out, and that the update would've been in testing for more than 4 months—a fairly long time for a '.1' release...
