Rumor: iPad 3 will indeed be LTE capable

One of the big questions about Wednesday's iPad 3 announcement isn't really the Retina display, which now is almost a given, but rather if it will support LTE or not.

While we've heard conflicting rumors about this within the last few weeks, iMore now claims that one of their sources confirmed the iPad 3 will indeed be LTE capable...

Rumor: 7.85-inch iPad moving closer to production

A new report from DigiTimes surfaced this morning claiming that the oft-rumored 7.85-inch iPad is moving closer to production. The site points to an article from United Evening News, a Taiwanese newspaper, which says Apple has just picked suppliers for the tablet.

DigiTimes doesn't have the best track record in providing accurate Apple information, but we've seen a number of reports over the past few months regarding a mini iPad. And these particular claims appear to have some kind of basis...

But what about software? Last year Apple added more than 200 new features to its mobile operating system with iOS 5. So what does it have in store for the next iteration? Well whatever it is, it looks like the company is hard at work on it...

Why is Apple hiring automotive engineers in China?

Earlier this week we talked about the possibility of Apple entering other markets to keep up its ridiculous growth pace. There's only so far the company's current iPhone and iPad products can take it before sales start to plateau.

When we mentioned the idea, we had no clue that the automotive industry was on Apple's list of potential new markets. But according to a recent job listing, the Mac-makers are in search of an automotive engineer for an undisclosed project...
