pod2g Leaves the Chronic Dev Team. Is Greenpois0n Endangered?

pod2g, the guy who discovered the SHAtter exploit that will hopefully allow the GreenPois0n jailbreak to come to life, just announced he is leaving the Chronic Dev Team.

In a series of tweets, pod2g explained that he's not working with the Chronic Dev Team anymore and that he will now be working independently. The question that comes to mind when reading this is: will the developement of GreenPois0n be affected?

What Features Will Never Come to the iPhone?

Reality can suck sometimes. As bad as the truth can be however it is usually almost always best to come to terms with certain aspects of reality. As far as this piece is concerned it's iPhone's reality.

We always spend lots of time trying to dig through the rumors when a new iPhone or version of iOS is released and pinpoint the newest features. What we spend comparatively less time on is coming clean on what features we know the iPhone will never get..

iPhone iOS 4.2 improving YouTube & CoreMIDI Support?

Every time there is an update in the iPhone's operating system the leaks start pouring in when the betas start getting passed out. This time with 4.2 it is no different. An improvement or adjustment I took notice in was the supposed tweaks to the YouTube experience and CoreMIDI support.

iLounge reports that the YouTube additions start and (apparently) end with adding of "Like" and "Dislike" buttons. If this is true it obviously offers no solace to those who've fallen in love with jailbreak app, YourTube 2...

Update on the GreenPois0n Jailbreak for iPhone

It seems GreenPois0n is going to be the next jailbreak for iOS 4.1 thanks to a new bootrom exploit that will supposedly work for the iPhone 4, the iPad, as well as the new iPod Touch.

Because everyone wants to know what's going on, the Chronic Dev Team gave a "no-update update" on their blog about the future potential GreenPois0n jailbreak, saying things were going swimmingly, to paraphrase them.

I guess the team has been receiving many emails and tweets from people eagerly waiting for a jailbreak for iOS 4.1. Here is the full update given by the Chronic Dev Team:

iPhone 3GS Running iOS 4.2 Jailbroken with Sn0wBreeze

iH8Sn0w, the developer of Sn0wBreeze sent a tweet a few hours ago telling he had successfully jailbroken his iPhone 3GS (old bootrom) running iOS 4.2 beta. Apparently, Cydia, Icy or Rock won't work though, which is kind of inconvenient and makes the jailbreak useless.

The point is he did manage to jailbreak the new beta release of iOS 4.2...

GreenPois0n Jailbreak Gets Its Own Website

Last week we reported that GreenPois0n might become the next iOS 4.1 jailbreak, and it turns out it now has its own dedicated website over at www.GreenPois0n.com. A quick look at the whois information for this domain name shows that it was created on September 11, 2009 by an anonymous registrant.

Redmond Pie believes it's a sign that GreenPois0n is close to completion and that it might indeed be the next jailbreak for iOS 4.1. While that makes sense, I still have doubts for the simple reason that a website is no sign of a future release. We saw that with LimeRa1n before...

GreenPois0n to Initiate Shiny Jailbreaking Era

The “Fun Day” is arriving as Chronic Dev Team is working hard to release their first ever all iDevices jailbreak tool named GreenPois0n. It took them a while to release the Greenpois0n jailbreak as it was announced earlier this year but they were never able to push it out as promised.

Chronic Dev Team and their Greenpois0n were even blamed to be fake as they accepted donations but never made a release. Some days ago, they made a strike by revealing a new bootrom exploit named SHAtter Exploit. This achievement means that iPhone 4, iPod Touch 4G, and iPad are jailbroken for life until Apple introduces hardware change in the devices by replacing the bootrom.

iPhone Used to Jailbreak A PlayStation 3

A hacker going by the name of NTAuthority has managed to jailbreak a PlayStation 3 using an iPhone running OpeniBoot, aka Android for iPhone. I love how creative people get in the name of hacking!

Just like when you jailbreak your iPhone, jailbreaking your PS3 doesn't come without any risk as Sony might ban you from the PlayStation Network. Oh well...

App Store Has a “How to Jailbreak” App

We knew that jailbreaking is now legal and that Apple seriously loosened their app approval process but we certainly didn't expect to find an application that explains how to jailbreak your iPhone in the App Store.

That's however what the ModMyI application does among many other things, as it brings the full forums to the palm of your hand with this new app.

Unofficial Version of PwnageTool Supposedly Jailbreaks iPhone 3GS iOS 4.1

An unofficial version of PwnageTool is going around the interwebs. This tool will supposedly jailbreak the iPhone 3GS running iOS 4.1. Needless to say that I do not recommend using this since it hasn't been approved by the Dev Team. However this method seems to work according to comments on iSpazio site (in Italian, mind you).

As usual with these crappy releases though, you have to fit in the crazy pre-requisites:

Apple Unveils Game Center Selections in the App Store

It's always a busy time in the world of iPhone blogging when the iPhone iOS gets an upgrade. Reports are flying high and aiming low about every feature implemented in the newest version of the operating system.

As you know by now iOS 4.1 has brought us Game Center, the social network fix for Apple gamers. So now that the platform is there and you've convinced all your iOS toting friends to add your handle, you may be asking what you're supposed to do without any games. Have no fear, the App Store is here...
