Apple TV Gets a Jailbreak

That didn't take long. A few days after demoing there iPod Touch 4G jailbreak, the Dev Team has now given us proof of a jailbreak for the new Apple TV that came out a couple days ago. It had been confirmed that the Apple TV could be jailbroken, but to be honest with you, I didn't expect it to come so quickly.

This Apple TV jailbreak takes advantage of the same SHAtter exploit used on the iPod 4G by restoring it to a custom IPSW using PwnageTool. Brilliant...

GreenPois0n Jailbreak Released in Days?

A few days ago the Dev Team demoed a perfectly working PwnageTool jailbreak that took advantage of the SHAtter exploit and successfully jailbroke an iPod 4G. There is every reason to believe that the Chronic Dev Team is near completion here...

Apple Releases iTunes 10.0.1 [Jailbreak Safe]

Apple just released the first update to iTunes 10 with this version 10.0.1. This is a just a minor update that fixes the usual bugs but also brings Ping to the sidebar. The Ping Sidebar basically gives you a quick glance at your Ping activity. Nothing earth shattering here.

It's worth noting that iTunes 10.0.1 is safe for jailbroken iPhones. More info about the update below...

Sn0wBreeze 2 iOS 4.1 Jailbreak is Out

This is not the complete title I wanted to use for this post. I wanted to say something like "Sn0wBreeze is Out - Who Cares?" but I thought it would have been insulting to iH8Sn0w who probably spent hours working on this new jailbreak.

I've never been a big fan of non-official jailbreaks (and by this I mean not endorsed by the Dev Team) because they come with tons of restrictions, and in the end very few people can actually use the jailbreak. So what's up with Sn0wBreeze?

RedSn0w 0.9.6 Beta 1 Jailbreak for iPhone 3G IOS 4.1 Released

According to the Dev Team, RedSn0w 0.9.6 Beta 1 uses the same pwnage2 DFU-mode exploit that has been around for a couple years. It does not use the SHAtter exploit discovered by pod2g, so there is nothing really new here...

RIP Rock Your Phone

About 2 weeks ago we told you that Rock Your Phone had been acquired by Cydia. While I wasn't very excited about it, there was nothing I could do but wait to see Rock die slowly.

And the day has come. Today Rock Your Phone is dead. I just updated Rock via Cydia and all I can see now when launching the app is this...
