Sn0wBreeze Adds Support for Tethered iOS 5.0.1 Jailbreak

Today iH8Sn0w updated his popular jailbreak tool Sn0wBreeze with support for the iOS 5.0.1 developer beta. This update also fixes the iBooks sandbox and Location Services issue with the iPhone 3GS.

As usual, this update blocks a UDID check and beta timer. This means that you do not need to be a registered developer to use this beta and that you can use the beta for as long as you wish...

Dev Team Updates RedSn0w Jailbreak for iOS 5.0.1 Beta

It's here, folks! The Dev Team just updated its famous RedSn0w jailbreak tool to version 0.9.9 beta 8 in order to bring compatibility with iOS 5.0.1 beta, which was released yesterday for developers.

We told you yesterday that RedSn0w was already able to jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 beta, but it wasn't completely flawless, as you had to point RedSn0w to the iOS 5 IPSW. MuscleNerd just confirmed that he has added iOS 5.0.1 beta keys to RedSn0w 0.9.9b8, making the jailbreak process this much easier...

‘Hands-Free Control’ Will Allow You to Invoke Siri By Voice

Wouldn't it be cool if you could invoke Siri without pressing and holding your Home button?

I've always thought that Apple should include such an option for when we're on the road and want to control our devices with Siri.

That's the concept behind a new jailbreak tweak entitled Hands-Free Control. Once the iPhone 4S jailbreak is made public, it will allow you to invoke Siri by voice alone.

In the meantime, though, you can invoke Voice Control on pre-iPhone 4S devices...

This Theme Turns Your iPhone into a Kindle Fire

A little over a month ago, Amazon jumped head-first into the tablet market with its 7-inch Kindle Fire. The $199 slate runs a low-level version of Android, but you'd never know that from its well thought-out user interface.

In fact, Amazon's tablet has already received a fair amount of praise. It's sharp, eye-popping, and gives users quick access to media content. And even better, it's coming to the iPhone with this jailbreak theme...

How to Jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 With RedSn0w

If you're a developer and you've taken the plunge to update to iOS 5.0.1 beta, we confirmed earlier that you can jailbreak the bleeding edge firmware.

Now we'll show you how to jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 on video using RedSn0w. You will need your iOS 5.0 firmware, since RedSn0w has not been updated to recognize 5.0.1 yet.

Other than that small little detail, jailbreaking iOS 5.0.1 with RedSn0w is a cinch...

Why The iPhone 4 Siri Port Hasn’t Been Released Yet

It's the hot button topic on the internet right now, but nobody really knows the answer to the burning question: where is the hack that will get Siri working on an iPhone 4?

We've seen video of it working thanks to chpwn and Steve Troughton-Smith, but the pair has been reluctant to make the hack available to us, the non-paying public.

In a blog post today, chpwn has sought to clear things up by explaining why the port hasn't been made publicly available, and as we suspected, it all comes down to copyright...

Patch Released to Let Jailbreakers Stream Live TV from the DirecTV iPad App

In case you didn't know, satellite provider DirecTV recently updated its iPad app with the ability to stream live TV. Customers can stream a selection of channels on the iPad when connected to the same home network as the DirecTV HD DVR.

Like Time Warner, DirecTV has blocked streaming access to users on jailbroken iDevices. A jailbreak patch has been released to fix the block...

Dev Team Posts Video of iPad 2 Jailbroken on iOS 5

Hot on the heels of MuscleNerd's status update on the iPhone 4S jailbreak, a short video of the iPad 2 has surfaced showing the tablet jailbroken and running Cydia on iOS 5.

No ETA has been given for the iOS 5 untethered jailbreak, but we can only assume that a jailbreak will be released for all devices at once, meaning that you'll be able to jailbreak A5 devices like the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 as well as older generation iDevices...

MuscleNerd Gives Update on iPhone 4S Jailbreak Status

Ever since Apple unveiled its latest version of the iPhone earlier this month, we've all been wondering one thing: when will it be jailbroken? And now that some of us have had the device for two weeks, we're definitely ready to start hacking.

Tweaks are being updated with iOS 5 compatibility, and new utilities are being introduced that are specific to the new software. So how long must us iPhone 4S users wait until we can access this stuff? Luckily, MuscleNerd has some info for us...
