An iOS 9.2 jailbreak is in the works, according to TaiG partner

Not only is an iOS 9.2 jailbreak in the works, but it could be here sooner than you think. That all, according to 3K Assistant, a long-time TaiG jailbreak partner. 3K Assistant is the same name of the utility that we always recommend unchecking on TaiG jailbreaks, because it usually has links to pirated content and just seems shady overall.

According to a report by Stephen Chan, who's reported on jailbreaking accurately in the past, 3K Assistant has announced that a jailbreak for iOS 9.2 is coming soon via the Chinese microblogging site Weibo.

How to add Panorama and Time-Lapse 3D Touch shortcuts to the Camera app

By default, the stock Camera app features four 3D Touch quick action shortcuts: Take Selfie, Record Video, Record Slo-mo, and Take Photo. One of the reasons that only four shortcuts are displayed, is because 3D Touch quick actions are limited to up to four items.

A couple of new tweaks from developer PoomSmart help to increase this threshold and add two new shortcuts to the stock Camera app. UnlimShortcut is a jailbreak tweak that expands the amount of quick action shortcuts available for use with any app, effectively removing the four shortcut limit. A second tweak, CamTouch, is the tweak that actually adds the two additional shortcuts to the stock Camera app specifically.

How to frame and shoot photos directly from the Home screen using 3D Touch [jailbreak]

One of the perks of having a jailbroken iPhone 6s is that you can combine 3D Touch with many of the newest jailbreak tweaks to come up with unique new features. One such feature, the ability to frame and take photos directly from the iOS Home screen, is made possible using a jailbroken iPhone 6s and a recently released tweak.

The tweak is entitled Point-And-Shoot, and it is capable of enhancing the stock 3D Touch shortcuts for the Camera app with a live camera viewfinder placed right on the Home screen. You can then use the Home screen viewfinder to frame your shots and snap photos on the fly.

DeleteCut: a jailbreak tweak that lets you quickly delete entire words

After holding the Delete key on your iOS keyboard for a few seconds to delete text, you'll notice that iOS will begin to delete entire words to save time. Wouldn't it be nice if, instead of waiting for it to kick in, you could immediately invoke entire word deletion using a keyboard modifier?

That's the basic premise behind DeleteCut. It's a jailbreak tweak that allows you to quickly delete whole words when pressing the Delete key while holding the Shift key. If you're a prolific typer, then this free jailbreak tweak is bound to save you some time.

How to add the native iOS share sheet to the YouTube app [jailbreak]

It's almost 2016, and the official YouTube app is still relying on its antiquated built-in sharing options instead of the native iOS 9 share sheet that most modern apps use on the platform. Sadly, Google insists on keeping its design language in many of its apps, even though it looks out of place on iOS. Not only that, but YouTube's built-in sharing options are a lot less functional and flexible.

With Native YouTube Share, a free jailbreak tweak available on Cydia's BigBoss repo, you can force the YouTube app to use the stock iOS 9 sharing sheet when sharing videos.

Auki 2 is in development, teased by Surenix

Auki—the Quick Reply and Quick Compose tweak released by Surenix and Bensge back at JailbreakCon in 2014—has a sequel in the works. Auki 2 is currently deep into development, and is the the result of a new collaboration between designer Surenix and developer Pimskeks.

Messages app tweaks like Auki are few and far between these days, especially with the demise of biteSMS, but Auki 2 looks poised to change that notion.

Springtomize 3 updated with new features

Uber-popular jailbreak tweak Springtomize 3 was provided with a nice little update today. Even though Filippo Bigarella has handed over the development reigns to another developer, the tweak is still receiving new features, which is a great sign for Springtomize fans.

Today's update, while not containing anything groundbreaking, brings several new niceties to the table. Additions include the ability to display seconds in the status bar, colorize the Lock screen time and date, and more.

iPhone jailbreaking pioneer George Hotz is building a self-driving car of his own

George Hotz aka ”Geohot”, one of the pioneers of the early jailbreak scene, is building a self-driving car of its own, according to a lengthy profile published today by Bloomberg Businessweek.

If you frequent this website, you're probably aware that Hotz is credited with becoming the first person to carrier-unlock an iPhone, which allowed users to use their handset with other carriers.

Much like he'd hacked the original iPhone, he's now done the same with his ordinary 2016 Acura ILX sedan. Working in his garage, he's managed to turn the Acura into a self-driving vehicle in about a month, by putting a laser-based radar on the roof, mounting a camera near the rearview mirror and attaching a 21.5-inch screen and a joystick to the dashboard.

Seng: even in beta, it’s the best App Switcher tweak for jailbroken iOS 9 devices [video]

If you're looking for an App Switcher replacement for iOS 9, then look no further than Seng, the currently in-beta Auxo-inspired tweak from developer Charlie Hewitt. We first told you about Seng's recent beta a few days ago, but since then, I've been able to go hands-on with the tweak.

What I found was a tweak that worked much like the original version of Seng released back in the summer time. The big difference here is that Seng now plays nice with iOS 9, a feat that's likely harder than it looks given the state of Auxo 3.
