Jailbreak tweaks of the week: HomePlus Pro, SmartNetwork 2, Xenon, & more…

With so much happening in the jailbreak community recently, especially with regard to the unc0ver jailbreak picking up support for iOS & iPadOS 14.0-14.3, it’s a great time to get involved in the community. Whether you’re new to jailbreaking, returning after a short hiatus, or simply looking forward pwning your handset on the latest firmware, then you’ve come to the right place.

In this roundup, we’ll showcase all the latest jailbreak tweaks and news tidbits from the week spanning Monday, March 1st to Sunday, March 7th. As usual, we’ll talk about our favorite releases first and then wrap things up with an easy-to-digest outline of everything else afterward.

AltStore and AltServer updated to v1.4.4 with iOS 14-centric bug fixes

Jailbreak apps such as Chimera, Odyssey, and unc0ver can be installed a bevy of different ways. Perhaps one of the most popular methods involves a software utility combination for macOS and Windows-based computers known as AltStore and AltServer. The latter runs as a process on the computer, facilitating the installation of the former alongside side-loadable apps on an iPhone or iPad running iOS or iPadOS 12.2 or later.

Both AltStore and AltServer occasionally receive updates with improvements and/or new features for users, and just this evening, the software duo were updated to version 1.4.4.

Enchant upgrades notification aesthetics on jailbroken iPhones

One of my favorite things to do with a jailbroken iPhone or iPad is customize the native user interface — something that Apple doesn’t generally let you do out of the box because they feel that their team of designers know best, and shame on you for even thinking that you might be able to make something look better. But I digress…

Enchant is a newly released jailbreak tweak by iOS developer P2KDev that lets you customize the appearance of your pwned handset’s incoming notifications. With it, you can achieve a wide variety of aesthetics ranging from nearly stock to polarizingly different; whichever floats your boat.

CopyKey makes it easier for jailbreakers to paste text via the keyboard

Anyone who does even the least amount of text editing knows just how important the ability to copy, cut, and paste text is. Unfortunately, the process tends to be cumbersome and time consuming on the iPhone.

Those taking advantage of a jailbreak, including the recently updated unc0ver tool with respect to iOS 14, are likely to appreciate the convenience and satisfaction of a newly released and free jailbreak tweak dubbed CopyKey by iOS developer Chr1s.

Jailbreak tweaks of the week: Astolfo, Cylinder Reborn, & more…

With another week now behind us, we’re coming at you with a roundup comprised of all the latest jailbreak tweak releases and jailbreak-centric news to help ensure that you don’t miss a beat during these rapidly changing times in the community.

In this roundup, we’ll showcase jailbreak tweaks and news released from Monday, February 22nd to Sunday, February 28th. As always, we’ll start things off with a discussion about our favorite releases first and then wrap things up with an outline of everything else afterward.

Cylinder Reborn: Barrel-inspired Home Screen paging animations for pwned iOS 13 & 14 devices

When I first got into jailbreaking more than a decade ago, one of the first jailbreak tweaks to pique my interest was one called Barrel. It could animate the Home Screen’s app icons in unique ways with every swipe between Home Screen pages.

Barrel is no longer actively maintained, which is why the Cylinder tweak launched back in 2014. Today, we’re excited to share news of the release of Cylinder Reborn by iOS developers Ryan Nair and Reed Weichler — the latest iteration of the tweak designed for iOS & iPadOS 13 and 14.

TinyWidget14 puts the Lock Screen’s Now Playing widget on a diet

Most iPhone users are familiar with the Now Playing widget. It’s the thing that pops on your Lock Screen whenever you have any type of media playing in the background.

While it’s useful for granular playback controls, the Now Playing widget certainly takes up a lot of vertical screen real estate on the Lock Screen, which severely limits available space for missed notification banners. Fortunately, a new and free jailbreak tweak dubbed TinyWidget14 by iOS developer P2KDev puts the Now Playing widget on a diet.

Jailbreak tweaks of the week: DoABarrelWall, Meredith, & more…

Thanks to all the exciting tidbits of jailbreak-centric news recently, from the teasers of a working jailbreak on iOS 14 to the release of a kernel-level exploit called cicuta_verosa for iOS 14.3 and below, it seems almost as if the jailbreak community is having an epiphany.

In this roundup, we’ll go over all the latest jailbreak tweak releases and jailbreak-centric news from this past week, ranging from Monday, February 15th to Sunday, February 22nd. As usual, we’ll kick everything off by talking about our favorite releases first before finally moving on to an outline of everything else afterward.

Trouble picking the perfect wallpaper for your pwned iPhone? DoABarrelWall can help

Selecting a wallpaper for your iPhone can be one of the most intimate manners of customization that you’ll get to experience, and that’s because it’s a personalized image that you’ll see every time you pick up your handset to start using it.

The primary concern with choosing a wallpaper, however, is that the quest to find the right one can be daunting. Whether you’re struggling to find one you like or you simply can’t make up your mind with regard to several that you like, choosing a wallpaper poses a unique set of challenges for the indecisive.

Tint your favorite apps with the new Meredith jailbreak tweak

One of the most obvious benefits to jailbreaking is that you can customize how your system looks and behaves without Apple look over your shoulder and limiting what you can and cannot do.

While installing themes would certainly be one of the easiest ways to make your handset look different than it does out of the box, the addition of aesthetically-driven jailbreak tweaks like the newly released Meredith by iOS developer Luki120 can help push your user experience on to the next level.
