Apple names popular puzzler ‘Twisty Hollow’ its free App of the Week

Apple has named Twisty Hollow its App of the Week for this week. This means that from now through next Thursday, you’ll be able to pick up the popular puzzler for both iPhone and iPad, for free—saving you a solid $3.

In the game, you must support the imputation citizens of Twisty Hollow by fulfilling their increasingly eccentric needs. You do this by combining items to make requested goods, so for example, Bessie + cow + bucket = milk.

Tim Cook tells employees they’ll get up to 50% off Apple Watch

Tim Cook sent out a memo to all Apple employees today, pumping them up for their retail Apple Watch kickoff on Friday. While the device will not officially available until the 24th of this month, customers will be able to submit pre-orders and try on the wearable beginning on the 10th.

In the memo, obtained by 9to5Mac's Mark Gurman, Cook tells employees that tens of millions of people have watched their Apple Watch keynotes and developers have submitted over 1000 new apps and updates with support for the device. He also announces special employee pricing.

Apple is currently highlighting several indie game sales in a new featured App Store section called 'Amazing Indie Games.' Users can find the section by visiting the 'Featured' section of the App Store and tapping on the banner image you see above.

All of the games listed in the section are made by independent developers (an individual or small team), and are being discounted by at least 50% for a limited time. Titles include Space Age: A Cosmic Adventure, Battleheart Legacy, Rules! and more.
