Quart is a new notification interface that will make non-jailbreakers jealous

When compared with other smartphone operating systems, there’s no question that iOS leaves a lot to be desired in the notification department. Fortunately, those with jailbroken handsets no longer have to settle with what Apple provides out of the box.

Quart is a newly released jailbreak tweak by iOS developer LaughingQuoll and designer timeloop that replaces the lackluster native notification system on your pwned iPhone with one that will get you riled up every time you receive a text message or any other sort of notification.

BoardBanner13 makes notification banners more notch-friendly

If your jailbroken iPhone sports the controversial notch at the top, then we’ve got some exciting news for you. A newly released jailbreak tweak called BoardBanner13 (iOS 12~13) by iOS developer PeterDev can modify your handset’s incoming notification banners to make them a lot more notch-friendly.

As depicted in the screenshot examples above, BoardBanner13 pushes the notification banner up and into the notch at the top of the display, effectively filling all the screen real estate that is normally ignored by Apple’s native banner notification implementation. The tweak is purportedly based on a concept that surfaced on Twitter earlier this month.

Mute specific apps for certain periods of time with QuietDown

Notifications can be useful, but some apps tend to be a little bit noisier than others. iOS’ native Do Not Disturb mode sometimes comes in handy in this instance, but it mutes all your apps at the same time, and this isn’t always ideal. For that reason, iOS developer Skitty has come out with a new free jailbreak tweak release called QuietDown.

QuietDown allows users to mute specific apps for certain periods, and it does so in such a user-friendly manner. With a simple swipe up on an application icon or a 3D Touch gesture on that same icon, you can bring up the muting interface shown above.

Vocito is a lightweight alternative to CallBar

It’s no secret that the iPhone’s inbound call interface is an intrusive pain in the butt. Not only does it take up the entire display, but you can’t do away with it without first declining the phone call. Obvious much?

CallBar by Elias Limneos has long enjoyed being the premier solution to Apple’s horrendous inbound call interface on jailbroken handsets, but a new jailbreak tweak release dubbed Vocito by iOS developer Antique aims to increase the competition in this sector by introducing a minimalist alternative to CallBar.

TinyBanners provides less intrusive notification banners for iOS 12

Apple originally introduced the humble notification banner to replace the intrusive notification alert pop-up in iOS, but Apple has since made those notification banners much taller, making them more intrusive than they were initially designed to be.

Here to solve that problem is a new jailbreak tweak called TinyBanners by iOS developer donbytyqi, which just as the name implies, makes iOS’ notification banners smaller such that they aren’t as intrusive.

BottomBannersX2 moves notification banners to the bottom of the display

iOS device users have long been accustomed to seeing their notification banners pop up at the top of the display, but with modern handsets adopting taller, larger displays, it becomes more challenging with each passing day to reach said banners one-handed without doing some serious thumb articulations.

Given the circumstances, iOS developer Rishanan has just released a new free jailbreak tweak called BottomBannersX2, which as the name implies, moves all inbound notification banners to the bottom of the display for easier one-handed access.

Colorize your jailbroken handset’s notifications with ColorBanners 2

If you’re looking for a way to make your jailbroken iPhone or iPad stand out from the rest, then you might enjoy a jailbreak tweak called ColorBanners 2 by iOS developer David Goldman.

Just as the name implies, ColorBanners 2 adds a splash of colors to your handset’s notification banners. In the screenshot examples above, you’ll see that the tweak’s behavior impacts your notification banners on a system-wide basis, including on the Lock screen, on the Home screen, and in Notification Center.

This tweak transforms iOS’ low battery pop-ups into banner notifications

When your iPhone’s battery level dips below 20%, a persistent pop-up alert appears front and center on your display to let you know. Most people cringe at these kinds of notifications because they get in the way of everything, but a free jailbreak tweak called LowBatteryBanner by iOS developer SparkDev can help.

As you might have inferred from the name already, LowBatteryBanner replaces the standard low battery level pop-up alert with something we can all appreciate: a banner notification.

NoSimAlert hides those annoying ‘No SIM Card Installed’ alerts

If you’ve got a stack of old, deactivated iPhones laying around without SIM cards like I do, then you’ve probably become very familiar with iOS’ inherently annoying ‘No SIM’ alerts. Not only does iOS display “No SIM” in the Status Bar, but it feels the need to display Lock screen banners and pop-up alerts to remind you of the obvious not just twice, but three times in a row.

As a jailbreak enthusiast and jailbreak tweak reviewer, I use deactivated and SIM-less iPhones all the time, and I’ve come to loathe these No SIM alerts. Fortunately, a jailbreak tweak called NoSimAlert by iOS developer SparkDev can help tremendously in this department.

Straw displays a banner notification with every song change

If the iPhone or iPad that you use to listen to your favorite media happens to be jailbroken on iOS 11, then you may want to check out a new free jailbreak tweak called Straw by iOS developer Jake Kaslewicz.

This tweak acts as your own personal song announcer by presenting a banner at the top of your display every time a new track starts playing.

ShyInstaShot disables the screenshot sharing banner in the Instagram app

Many apps are now following a new trend where taking a screenshot will yield an in-house notification for sharing it. We’ve seen this in apps like Amazon and Spotify, and now Instagram is doing it too.

If you’d like to disable this banner in the Instagram app to keep it from appearing whenever you take a screenshot of someone’s post, then we’d recommend a new jailbreak tweak called ShyInstaShot by iOS developer CydiaGeek.

Fuzzy blurs the Lock screen background when you have notifications

iOS 10 changed how incoming notifications looked on the Lock screen by doing away with the background blur that appeared behind banners and adding those polarizing banner backgrounds.

If you miss the way the Lock screen wallpaper would always become blurred when receiving notifications, then you might be interested in trying a new free jailbreak tweak called Fuzzy by iOS developer candoizo.
