Designing and building your own iOS application can be a tough task. Aside from needing programming experience, you also need other skills like graphic design and project planning.
Well if build-your-own-app services like AppMakr won't solve your dilemma, maybe these guys can help. Brothers John and Sam Shahidi took all the success from their popular RunPee app, and well, ran with it...
Getting rid of a folder can be quite time consuming, depending on how many applications it contains. If there are just 2 or 3 apps then it isn't that bad, but 5 or more can get pretty tedious.
That's because to delete a folder, you must first drag every application from the folder back to the home screen. After the last app is removed, the folder deletes itself. A new utility is coming to Cydia though, that could change all of that...
While the jailbreak scene is home to a lot of apps and utilities that make our lives easier, it is also a hot bed for innovation. Since the Cydia App Store has very little submission guidelines, developers can use forbidden API's as their hearts' desire.
While you may not necessarily "need" this utility, it definitely falls in the innovative category. The guys over at iPhoneIslam have created an app that turns your 3G-modeled iPad into a talking, texting iPhone. Don't believe it? Video after the break...

Your iPhone's battery could failing, but there are still ways to help maximize your battery life while you still can. We've collected four tips to help you squeeze the most juice out of your iPhone's battery...
Have you ever had an amazing idea for an iPhone application but didn't have the means to get it off the ground? Producing an iPhone app can seem like a daunting task to even the most experienced developer, so what about the folks that are just starting out?
I've been tinkering with XCode for over a year now and still can't quite make heads or tails of a lot of things. Luckily, there appears to be a few options for novices to turn ideas into apps without any programming...
Unless you've been living in a cave for the last month, chances are you've heard of Lodsys. The patent licensing company has been sending letters to iOS developers threatening legal action. They believe that in-app purchasing infringes on a patent of theirs, and they want to get paid.
After weeks of silence, Apple finally decided to speak up on the matter. While they publicly defended their developer's rights, they have not given any indication that they would help with legal fees, should Lodsys' threats ever materialize...
It'll be interesting to see if Apple gives Safari a facelift in the upcoming iOS 5 update. It's already rumored that several areas like voice control will receive an overhaul, but will the tiny browser see any improvements?
If you're not currently happy with Apple's default browser, there are several alternatives in the App Store. iCab and Atomic are awesome choices, but what about Opera Mini? Even if you didn't like the browser before, you might want to check out the latest update...
It's no secret that the App Store is a massive success. Apple took the idea of 'mobile applications' and turned it into a cultural phenomenon.
In 34 months, over 500,000 apps have been approved by Apple for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. That's a lot of apps. Check out an awesome infographic that details it all after the break (it's a big one)...
It seems like the gears of the underground iOS development have been rapidly turning for the past month. There has been a steady flow of new and innovative tweaks and applications over the last several weeks, and it doesn't appear to be stopping anytime soon.
FolderLock, developed by Andrea Oliva, just went live in the BigBoss repo. The new jailbreak app will allow you to password protect almost everything in iOS, from folders to the Settings app.Â
The lockscreen has always been an interesting area of the iPhone's interface for jailbreak devs to experiment with. You've got LockInfo, AndroidLock, awesome themed lockscreens, and weirder experiments like RecognizeMe that are all available in Cydia.
The newest addition to the lockscreen enhancement category looks to be SlideAway by popular jailbreak developer, Filippo Bigarella. Filippo has brought us several jailbreak apps in the past, including Springtomize, CleverPin, MyVolume, and NowPlaying for Tweetbot. SlideAway looks to be his greatest creation yet...
Remember back in early April when we posted a video of that impressive 3D demo? Well, it seems like the developers were able to turn that project into an actual iOS application.
Before you get too excited, you should know that the software is pretty limited. It really isn't much more than a showcase for the 3D technology that was shown in the popular video released last month...
Earlier this month we reported on the return of a Cydia alternative known as Icy to the jailbreak scene. The renewed package installer came out swinging with a quick and simple user interface, as well as the ability to add all of your favorite sources.
From the same folks that brought you Icy, comes Installer 4.0. The Infini-Dev team posted on their blog yesterday that they had successfully ported Installer to iOS 4.3.3, let the nostalgia and deja vu begin...
