Apple once again denied US sales ban on select Samsung devices

Apple has once again been shot down by US District Judge Lucy Koh in its ongoing effort to win a sales ban on Samsung devices. In San Jose, California today, Koh denied the Cupertino company's latest bid to ban select Samsung smartphones.

Despite two US juries finding multiple Samsung products to be infringing on its patents, Apple has seen little success in its injunction attempts. This time, the company had hoped to make its request more viable, asking for a "narrowly tailored" ban.

Apple reportedly debuting wearable alongside two new iPhones in September

Apple has plans to launch a wearable, presumably the iWatch, at its September media event alongside two new versions of the iPhone, according to John Paczowski at ReCode. The iWatch was thought to be delayed until an October event, giving Apple more time to finalize its plans, however well plugged-in Paczowski claims the Cupertino-based company has moved up its timeline.

Another purported iPad Air 2 rear panel leaks out showing minor design changes

A pair of photographs of excellent quality were published Wednesday morning by the increasingly reliable French blog NowhereElse.fr, seemingly picturing a purported rear shell of a sixth-generation full-size iPad. The device, which Apple will probably call the iPad Air 2, should be unveiled in October.

The rumor-mill hasn't leaked many iPad Air 2 parts so this particular component offers an insight into some of the minor design tweaks.

For starters, the volume buttons are said to be inset in a recess. Also, a hole for the microphone on the back is now positioned alongside the camera rather than being centered on the top.

The device's interior appears to be revised slightly, too.

Leaked iPhone 6 logic board has likely place for NFC chip

There have been rumors swirling for years that Apple will finally bring NFC to the iPhone, and if the schematics of a leak from last week hold true, the iPhone 6 may be the first to hold the communications technology. A MacRumors forum member examined bare logic boards claimed to ship with the iPhone 6, and have found leaked NFC chips fit perfectly.

Minimalistic puzzle game Bicolor goes temporarily free via Apple Store app

Concluding its four-week promotion celebrating the life of a college student, the beautiful minimalistic puzzle game Bicolor has gone free for a week inside Apple's official Apple Store client for the iPhone and iPad (not to be confused with the App Store).

Created by 1Button and released on May 1, Bicolor includes 180 handmade levels, each consisting of just two colors. Bicolor tasks you with completing various patterns in order to clear the board and progress to the next level.

Priced at 99 cents in the App Store, Bicolor is free for the next seven days exclusively through the Apple Store app.

US Online Apple Store starts offering iPhones on AT&T’s Next installment plans

As previously rumored, Apple's started offering the iPhone on AT&T's Next program on its webstore in the United States, 9to5Mac reported this morning.

The much-needed change allows cash-strapped customers who prefer buying their devices full price to spread the cost of hardware with fixed monthly payments. This marks the first time the Cupertino firm has supported any carrier's installment plan online.

After the nation's #4 carrier, T-Mobile, last year killed contracts and unbundled the cost of hardware from the wireless service, AT&T, Verizon and Sprint followed suit by unveiling their own financing and early upgrade offers.

As we doubt this offer is exclusive to AT&T, we're expecting the firm to start offering the popular smartphone on Verizon's and T-Mobile's installment plans sooner than later.

Dropbox Pro now comes with 1TB of storage, remote wipe and password-protected links

Dropbox, the popular cloud-storage startup, today announced it's increased the $9.99 per month Dropbox Pro tier to one terabyte of storage, up from the previous capacity of 500 gigabytes.

In addition to doubling the amount of storage included in the plan, Dropbox Pro also introduces new sharing controls and safeguards for lost devices allowing you to share content using password-protected links and initiate a remote wipe of your Dropbox on any lost device.

This is NOT the iPhone 6, or is it?

We have to interrupt original programming this afternoon with a breaking exclusive mega scoop from YouTuber Doldo411. Likely from a covert mission into Apple's Cupertino campus, the scoop master has gotten his hands on the iPhone 6 before the rest of the world - and it looks like a doozie.

New ad formats coming to iAd: pre-roll video and full-screen interstitials

Apple announced to iOS developers today that it has enabled new ad formats that could help them generate more revenue. Developers can now add pre-roll video and full-screen advertisements to their apps, via iAd.

The news makes good on a report from back in March, which said the ads would be capable of interrupting a user in-app. It's more likely, however, that the ads will play at moments of transition, such as at the end of a level.

Stop typing so much: QuickBoard for iOS 8 will save text you’ve been typing over and over

A new third-party keyboard called QuickBoard wants to stop you from drone-lessly typing out the same information over and over. These iPhones have tiny screens, after all!

Set to launch this fall with iOS 8's new third-party keyboard support, QuickBoard has three separate keyboard entities, TextBoard, MeBoard, and LocationBoard, that allows you to store snippets of text instead of typing it out over and over again.
