Konami’s popular trading card game Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links hitting iOS this winter
Konami today announced that its popular card trading game, Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links, will be launching on the iPhone and iPad this winter.
Based on both the manga Yu-Gi-Oh!, which was serialized in the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from 1996, and the fifth iteration of the Yu-Gi-Oh!, the game promises to kindle the spirit of Yami Yugi, Seto Kaiba and other famous characters from the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise in competitive card battle action.
Alto’s Adventure now supports haptic feedback via iPhone 7’s new Taptic Engine
Developer Snowman pushed a nice little update to Alto's Adventure, its award winning endless snowboard odyssey for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, which implements rich haptic feedback for users with iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus devices. Apple allows developers to create custom vibrations on the iPhone 7's improved Taptic Engine via a Taptic API.
Snowman is among the first developers to have implemented Taptic feedback.
More people are interested in buying AirPods than Apple Watch Series 2
According to a new survey of more than a thousand customers in the United States, conducted by Bank of America Merrill Lynch and cited in today's BusinessInsider article, a whopping twelve percent of respondents are interested in buying Apple's $159 wireless AirPods earbuds when they go on sale next month, resulting in an incremental $3 billion in revenue.
In fact, more respondents said they planned to purchase the AirPods than the new Apple Watch Series 2 (eight percent).
KGI: 2017 iPhones to sport glass front/back, stainless steel edges on high-end models
Back in April, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that the Tenth Anniversary iPhone would undergo significant design changes, ditching the LCD screen and unibody aluminum casing for an all-glass enclosure and a wraparound AMOLED panel protected by curved 2.5 glass cover on the front.
In a new report issued to clients today, a copy of which was obtained by AppleInsider, Kuo says that there is “increasing likelihood” that all 2017 iPhones will have all-glass front and back, with a high-end iPhone 8 model adopting a stainless steel metal frame rather than aluminum.
Spotify expands in the Japanese market
Spotify, the top music streaming service, today launched in Japan, the world's third-largest economy by nominal GDP and home to population of 127 million people. The company announced at a press event in Tokyo that the service is currently available to music lovers in Japan on an invite-only basis before opening to all users. The service launched on mobile, tablet, desktop and PlayStation consoles.
A Game of Thrones: Enhanced Edition with bonus interactive content hits iBooks
The first book in George R. R. Martin's “Game of Thrones” fantasy series was published twenty years ago today. Celebrating the anniversary, publisher HarperCollins and Apple released interactive “Game of Thrones” digital books on the iBooks Store today.
Representing “an amazing next step in the world of books,” The Guardian reports that the enhanced electronic books bring “a world of additional content” such as sigils, family trees and glossaries.

1 million Note 7 recalled so far, but Samsung has another exploding problem on its hands
Following an unprecedented global recall of at least 2.5 million Note 7 smartphones due to faulty batteries causing some of the units to catch fire, Samsung today told Reuters that more than one million people worldwide are now using Galaxy Note 7 smartphones with batteries that are not vulnerable to overheating and catching fire. However, the firm has another problem on its hands: exploding washing machines. It's certainly been a rough month for Samsung.

Apple to open R&D center in China’s “Silicon Valley” that’ll employ 500 people
Tim Cook said during his August charm offensive in China that his company could deepen its cooperation with the local government by launching its first Asia-Pacific research and development center. According to local media reports today, the facility will open in Zhongguancun Science Park, situated in the Haidian District in northwestern Beijing.
Apple aiming for October launch of new MacBook Pro
Apple is moving rapidly toward the launch of new MacBook Pro models, reports MacRumors. The site says it has learned that macOS 10.12.1 is largely focused on preparing the operating system to support the new laptop's features, and it hopes to finalize the update by the end of next week so it can be loaded on the new hardware currently being produced by Apple's supply chain.
