What I really like about Kickstarter is that anyone can come up with an idea, get funding, and turn a concept into a prototype that will eventually become an actual product.

With that in mind, it's amazing to see that product development is not only for big companies anymore, but for people like you and me to create something awesome. This is exactly what Eddie Hsieh is trying to do.

Belkin’s LiveAction iPhone Camera Remote and Grip Finally Announced

Remember that iPhone camera remote of Belkin's that went through the FCC last week? The accessory maker has now made it all official, and the remote even has a friend tagging along for the ride.

Belkin today announced the LiveAction Camera Remote alongside the LiveAction Grip, both of which will cost $49.99, with the former now available for pre-order and the latter shipping today.

Both accessories look to take advantage of the cameras in the iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, and of course, the iPod touch...

iPad Survives 1300ft Drop From a Parachute Just For Kicks, and Advertising

In a novel publicity stunt, device case maker G-Form has thrown an iPad from the nose bleed-inducing height of 1300 feet.

In order to prove just how strong the company's iPad case really is, G-Form decided to drop one from a parachuting daredevil while a video plays on it, just for effect. As is predictably the case, if you'll pardon the pun, the iPad survives the fall, though it is fair to say that the case itself has seen better days...

Last Call for iPhone Pre-Order Customers to Purchase AppleCare+

Last month we reported on Apple's latest iteration of its extended warranty service, AppleCare+. The plan differs from previous versions of AppleCare because not only does it extend your device's warranty, but it also adds low-cost coverage for accidental damage.

According to Gizmodo, if you pre-ordered your iPhone 4S or 8GB iPhone 4, today is your last chance to grab AppleCare+ for your new handset. The news comes from the AppleCare+ website, which claims that November 14th is the deadline for customers that pre-ordered...

MobileMount, a Successful KickStarter Project [Sponsored]

A couple weeks ago, we told you about a new Kickstarter project called "MobileMount," an accessory that can serve as both a kickstand and a suction cup mount for iPhones, iPads, or pretty much anything else that has a flat surface.

Jose Sanchez, the guy behind the MobileMount, needed to raise $20,000 to start his project. Thanks to Kickstarter, some 1,300+ backers have already pledged close to $60,000 for the project, which goes far beyond Sanchez's wildest expectations and there are still two more weeks to go, as anyone can still pledge until November 29th.

We sat down with Sanchez and asked him a few questions about his project. It's actually quite an interesting story to see how someone like you and me can turn a simple idea into a real product...

TechCrunch spotlights an interesting new case from the folks over at Vooma. The accessory adds a second SIM card slot to your iPhone. You might recognize some of Vooma's previous work, which includes other iDevice products like the iPod touch Peel 3G case.
