Ironically, the new iPad Retina display is made by Samsung

In the months leading up to the unveiling of the new iPad, the rumor mill seemed pretty confident that the tablet would be getting a high resolution Retina display. But we weren't quite sure who was going to be making them.

There was a lot of speculation regarding Sharp as a possible manufacturer. And the same with LG. But according to a new report from Bloomberg, the sole display-maker for the new iPad has been none other than Samsung...

Apple is having trouble catching up to Samsung in China

Apple's iPhone is now available on the second and third largest carriers in China, China Unicom and China Telecom. Both carriers combined give Apple access to 34% of China's whopping 988 million mobile users. However, like in any market, Apple is competing for those sales.

According to a new report from Bloomberg, quoting Gartner, Apple's iPhone is having trouble gaining marketshare in China, while Samsung's lead has tripled...

However despite what you might think, this isn't the A5 processor that Apple has included in the iPad 2 and iPhone 4S...

Apple asking for up to $15 from Samsung and Motorola for each Android device sold

Rumor: 7-inch ‘iPad mini’ launching in Q3

A 7-inch iPad has been in the rumor-mill for quite awhile, but has yet to see the light of day. Many have said Apple will never choose to go with a 7-inch display and will continue to opt with its 10-inch iPad -- which is currently the top selling tablet. However, many reports indicate a 7-inch (or 8-inch) version of the iPad will launch later this year.

OLED-Display says it has obtained a leaked document from Samsung, dated from December 2011. According the document, Apple will launch a 7-inch 'iPad mini' in Q3 of this year...

When an iPhone meets a Samsung Note

A couple weeks ago, Samsung spent big bucks to play a commercial during the Super Bowl for their latest device: the Galaxy Note, a 5.3-inch phablet (phone/tablet), powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, and 16GB of built-in memory. Oh yes, and I almost forgot. It also comes with a stylus!

The guys over at Joy of Tech imagined what would happen if an iPhone met a Samsung Note. Quite entertaining, and perfect to start the day on a funny note...

Samsung Note: It’s Not a Phone, It’s Not a Tablet, It’s a Phablet!

A few days ago, Samsung released a teaser for what they called the next big thing, in which they made fun of us poor Apple users. Today we found out what the next big thing is when Samsung showed off the Note, during the Super Bowl.

I was a bit confused while watching this. Is it a phone? Is it a tablet? It seems even Samsung isn't sure what the Note really is. Turns out the Note is a phone/tablet hybrid, with – I'm not kidding you – a stylus...
