Rumor: 7-inch iPad to feature slim bezel display

Apple has been rumored to unveil a 7-inch iPad for years now, and we most recently heard the Kindle Fire competitor is set to launch sometime this fall. Earlier this month, leaked Samsung documents helped tighten up some of the rumors.

New iPad rumors: what materialized?

I don't know about anyone else, but just seeing the word "rumor" at this point makes me cringe. It seems like we saw enough gossip regarding Apple's latest tablet over the last few months to write a novel. Or at least several chapters of one.

But was it really worth it, reporting each new rumor nearly every day? How much of the gossip ended up materializing? And how much of it didn't pan out? We answer these questions, and more, inside...

Rumor: New haptic feedback touchscreen bound for the iPad 3

Is this the real secret of the iPad 3 invite? According to a report by The Next Web's Matthew Panzarino, Apple could be cooking up something incredible for the iPad 3.

That incredible secret — one that has ironically been sitting under everyone's nose the entire time — is a special touch feedback technology that was first revealed where? Yep, Cupertino, California.

Panzarino reasons that while the currently existing haptic feedback technology employed by Android products and the like are pretty uninspiring, this new technology could permanently change how we expect to interact with touch screen devices...

A new $99 Apple TV tomorrow?

Tomorrow's event won't be exclusively about the iPad 3, as 9to5Mac confirms what we've heard before about an Apple TV refresh:

We’ve gotten a few more tidbits about tomorrow’s Apple TV announcement (Oh, there will be a new iPad too!). The Apple TV J33 model, MD199LL/A – J33 BEST -USA, which we’ve covered before will come in at the same $99 price point (and similar prices globally). This is definitely not a surprise. As a matter of fact, we dedicated a whole section of our predictions for tomorrow's event about the Apple TV.

9to5Mac also mentions a mystery accessory that would be available for $39. It likely is a dock, cable, or maybe a new remote. All those questions will be answered tomorrow, so make sure to tune in to iDB for the full coverage.
