Here’s how the iOS 5.1 Lock screen camera works

Arguably the biggest change to iOS 5.1 when compared with its predecessors is the Lock screen camera functionality.

Instead of double pressing the Home button to reveal the camera icon on your Lock screen, the camera icon is a permanent fixture.

Revealing the actual camera also works quite differently than in times past. Check out our video walkthrough of the new iOS 5.1 Lock screen camera functions inside...

You can download AppSlider for free on Cydia's BigBoss repo. Let us know what you think about it.

‘iUnlock’ adds custom unlock animations and sound effects to your iDevice

If the first thing you though was: "Hey, that looks like UnlockFX," then you're not alone, I thought the same thing too.

But after a little bit of testing, I've confirmed that there just may be enough differences between UnlockFX and iUnlock to warrant a look.

While its animations aren't as original and inspired as that of UnlockFX, iUnlock does feature a few more bells and whistles to make it worthy of your consideration...

Access iOS 5’s Notification Center from your Lock Screen with Bulletin

One of my favorite features about IntelliscreenX is the fact that you can access your notification center from your lock screen. I don't use the popular tweak anymore, it was too much for me. And that's really the only element I miss.

Since I dropped Intelliscreenx, I've been looking for a developer to come up with a standalone jailbreak tweak to enable lock screen notification center access. And finally, it's here. Introducing Bulletin...

LockInfo: iOS 5’s Notification Center inspiration stands the test of time

LockInfo is one of the few jailbreak apps that could single-handedly convinced people to jailbreak their iDevices over the past few years.

It's arguably the primary inspiration behind iOS 5's Notification Center. IntelliScreenX, one of the most popular jailbreak apps at the current moment replicates some of its features.

Without a doubt, LockInfo is a staple in the jailbreak community on a variety of levels. If you're new to the iPhone, or you've just never given LockInfo a try for whatever reason, we recommend that you take a look at our video walkthrough inside...

‘ColoredKnob’ Updated With a Host of New Colors

ColoredKnob is a tweak that we covered in the past, and it was met with a fairly warm reception. We really liked it; in fact, the only thing holding us back from absolutely loving it was the limited amount of colors available in the initial release.

Apparently the developer heard our cries, because ColoredKnob has just been updated with a ton of new colors, making it much more appealing that it was before...
