Super publisher Electronic Arts today announced Plants vs. Zombies Heroes, a new installment in its popular Plants vs. Zombies series that “takes you beyond the backyard.” A collectible card game, Heroes lets you choose from hundreds of characters across the Plants vs. Zombies universe, including new roster favorites from Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 like Super Brainz, Z-Mech, Citron and Rose.
Featuring comic-style narrative that tells the story gradually as the game progresses, Heroes challenges you to assemble an all-star Plants vs. Zombies team to outwit opponents in battle. The game soft-launched in New Zealand ahead of its upcoming worldwide release.
This was a pretty interesting week for iOS releases. Snowman, the makers of Alto's Adventure, the award-winning endless snowboarding odyssey, has teamed up with the folks over at The Game Band, a Los Angeles-based studio, on a brand new project—Where Cards Fall, a “dreamlike journey through youthful uncertainty.”
The game challenges you to build various structures using cards only to break them down and rebuild them in different ways. What started off as a fun school project at the University of Southern California about four years ago is now a full-time project.
Where Cards Fall does not have a release date just yet and they've only released two teaser images thus far. But if Alto's Adventure is anything to go by, this could easily become another smash hit for Snowman.
Sony today confirmed in a blog post that it's working on a Mac and Windows app with remote play functionality for PlayStation 4 games.
“We’re bringing PS4 Remote Play to Windows PC and Mac,” said the Japanese gaming giant. “This feature won’t be available to test in the beta, but you can look forward to it soon.”
Remote play via Mac and Windows will require the forthcoming PlayStation system software update version 3.50, codenamed “Musashi,” which is now available to those who have signed up for the beta and were selected.

Apple on Thursday updated its App of the Week promotion with Laser Dog's 'HoPiKo.' This means that for the next 7-days, you'll be able to pick up the popular 8-bit platformer for free, for both your iPhone and iPad—a savings of $2.
HoPiKo is described by its developers as an "intense speed run platformer where you get to save gaming." Players must jump from platform to platform, exploiting shortcuts and ripping through hundreds of gorgeous, hand-crafted levels.
Telltale Games, a maker of episodic games, today launched The Walking Dead: Michonne on the App Store, Android, Mac and Windows PCs and the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 consoles. A new mini-series, The Walking Dead: Michonne is aimed at both fans who are already familiar with the iconic character Michonne and those who have no prior knowledge of Robert Kirkman's comics, the TV show or Telltale's titles for that matter.
“This story is a separate, standalone experience, which makes it a great place to jump into the franchise with an awesome character,” notes Telltale.
