Anyone Know Where We Can Get a Decent CDMA Engineer?

If you happen to know, give Apple a call, because they're looking as well; that is according to a recent posting on the Cupertino based company's hiring website.

The Cellular Systems Performance Engineer position in particular mentions that the candidate be familiar with various forms of CDMA tech, among other preferences.

Hmm, now if we could just figure out why in the world Apple would need a CDMA engineer. Anyone know? We're drawing a blank here.

The Fastest Way to View Cydia Updates

Many of you like to see new packages in Cydia as soon as they're available. If you're put off by the time it takes Cydia to load, then here's an alternative method to view changes, updates, and newly posted apps.

To do this, you will need an RSS reader app, or at the very least a Google Reader account. I recommend using the free version of MobileRSS, but any will do. Once you have a way to view RSS feeds on your iPhone, add the feed listed below.

iOSFlashVideo is Another Addition to the Growing List of Flash Workarounds for iPhone

First there was Frash, then there was the much hyped SkyFire browser. It's obvious that there are plenty of folks out there that still want Flash capabilities on the iPhone.

Though much of the need has been quelled with the mass adoption of HTML 5 video tags, there are apparently still a few sites that haven't made the switch. Obviously this presents an issue for us iPhone users.

As a remedy, we've had jailbreak solutions and we've had official App Store app solutions. Now, we can officially say that we have a Safari bookmarklet solution -- iOSFlashVideo.

Dev Team Working on Baseband Downgrade for Easier iPhone Unlock

Those of you who recently unlocked their iPhones running iOS 4.2.1 or 4.1 know that the process wasn't as straightforward as we expected. The latest UltraSn0w unlock works for the iPhone 3G or iPhone 3GS with baseband 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, or 05.13.04. It also works with iPhone 4 with baseband 01.59.00. But if you're iPhone is on a different baseband, you have to upgrade to 06.15.00, either using RedSn0w or PwnageTool.

This new unlock doesn't come without its share of issues, with battery drain for some of us, and/or GPS issues for others. Fortunately, it seems the Dev Team is working on a baseband downgrade method, which would make the unlock process easier, and safer...
