Apple’s website updated with the iPad mini, includes videos and screenshots

Apple has immediately updated their website to reflect the new iPad mini. There, you'll be able to digest the new iPad mini video, watch the entire keynote address (coming soon), and look at screenshots and statistics for the latest entry in the iPad line.

Apple announces new slimmer iMac with fusion drive, 8lbs lighter

Apple announced an amazing looking new iMac that's incredibly thinner than the previous generation version.

The new iMac use a new build process called fricton stir welding, where the actual molecules of the aluminum are merged together to make a single piece. Apple also laminated the display directly to the glass to yield a 45% thinner display system.

The optical drive is also removed for added space savings. The new iMacs will come in both 21.5" and 27" versions...

Apple just announced iBooks 3.0 at their iPad Mini media event. The new version of iBooks includes support for a helping new languages, like Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.

The iBooks refresh also supports continuous scrolling, and enhanced iCloud integration similar to that which is found on Kindle Devices. Now you can easily pick up right where you left off across all of you devices in a more efficient manner.

IHS iSuppli predicts off the sales for the iPad mini in 2013

Just as Apple revived a dormant tablet industry, the iPad maker is expected to double the market for seven-inch tablets. Thanks to its incoming smaller iPad, demand for tablets in the seven-inch range will grow to a third of the overall market by 2013, a market research firm announced Tuesday.

"Just as Apple has dominated the market for 9.7-inch tablets with its iPad, iPad 2 and new iPad models, the company is poised to rule the market for 7.x-inch products", said Rhoda Alexander, director of tablet and monitor research for IHS iSuppli. Indeed, the market for such tablets will increase 100 percent this year and next, according to the research firm...

Apple fires Korean chief ahead of the iPhone 5 launch

Just days before the iPhone 5 is scheduled to launch in South Korea, Apple fired the chief of its business unit there. According to a report, Dominique Oh, hired only 17 months ago, was canned after supposedly sluggish sales. South Korea is important for Apple, as the Asian nation is home to its chief rival Samsung. Apple confirmed Oh's contract was terminated, but said it could not address speculation on the reasoning behind the company's decision...

Conveniently, Sharp says IGZO devices set to surge

On the eve of Apple's iPad mini event, the Japanese giant Sharp has announced it expects shipments of devices incorporating its cutting-edge low-power IGZO (Indium gallium zinc oxide) display technology to surge. IGZO incorporates a thin-film transistor that allows for thinner devices while reducing power consumption and increasing image quality. NPD DisplaySearch claimed last month Apple would refresh display tech on the iPad 3 and another story back in July asserted that a 7.85-inch mini iPad would use  an IGZO display made by Sharp...

Samsung denies cutting LCD supply to Apple

A newspaper report yesterday by a South Korean media outlet spread like a wildfire across the blogosphere. It has been asserted that Samsung, Apple's fierce rival in mobile and its major supplier of components, will cease selling displays to the Cupertino, California iPhone maker, reportedly because Samsung's components arm dubbed Samsung Display no longer sees Apple as “a cash-generator due to the iPhone maker’s stiffer supply-chain management structure”.
