Leak: iPhone 8 manufacturing molds and another schematics sheet

Prolific leakster Benjamin Geskin today shared some new images on Twitter that appear to show CNC-milled manufacturing molds along with a technical diagram for Apple's upcoming iPhone 8. The images were obtained through SlashLeaks and, assuming genuine, probably taken by a factory worker. If anything, they serve as yet another indication that iPhone 8 will have vertically-stacked cameras and no Touch ID on the back.

Foxconn says it’s planning a number of investments in America

iPhone manufacturer Hon Hai Precision Industry Co, also known as Foxconn, is planning several investments in the United States, its Chairman Terry Gou said as he exited the White House on Friday.

As of today, Apple Music is providing snippets of songs to Musical.ly, a social app for video creation, messaging and live broadcasting. Musical.ly will also permit paying Apple Music subscribers to listen to the full songs within its iPhone app.

Recode reported Friday that Apple has now joined U.K.-based provider 7digital in supplying the songs to Musical.ly. The partnership will help the app expand its global reach and Apple will benefit from the exposure of its service to Musical.ly's users.

Apple’s self-driving technology testbed spotted driving on Silicon Valley roads

After obtaining a permit from the California Department of Motor Vehicles two weeks ago, first real-world images of the vehicle Apple's using to test its rumored autonomous driving software have now surfaced. Bloomberg was able to obtain photos of a sensor-laden white Lexus R450h SUV as it emerged from an Apple facility.

The car was outfitted with two radars, a bunch of cameras and a Velodyne 64-channel LiDAR, a detection system that works on the principle of radar but uses light from a laser.

What you need to know about OSX/Dok malware

A new type of man-in-the-middle attack has been detected in the wild, targeting Apple's Mac. Dubbed OSX/DOK, it relies on a new strain of macOS malware which leverages a bogus security certificate to bypass Apple's Gatekeeper protection. Popular anti-virus programs are currently unable to detect OSX/DOK.

The Hacker News and researches at CheckPoint explain that the malware affects all versions of macOS by using a valid developer certificate signed by Apple. Here's what OSX/DOK does, how it works, how to tell if you're affected and what you can do to protect yourself and avoid these kinds of attacks in the future.

With several Apple TV jailbreaks in use by our readership, it's important to remember that with them comes both the power and risk of running SSH connections to your device.

To do this you'll need to connect to it from another device via SSH. In this guide we'll take you through how to do just that, as well as how to protect yourself by changing the default passwords.
