New Verizon iPhone Has Antenna Issues Too

Just when you thought we were done with the antennagate, a new video from iLounge surfaced, showing that the Verizon iPhone is also affected by an antenna issue. When held in the prior "death grip" position, the Verizon iPhone loses substantial cellular signal, just like we previously saw with GSM iPhone 4.

Additionally, the CDMA iPhone 4 seems to be affected by a loss of wifi signal when held snugly in landscape mode. Both issues seem to be taken care of with the use of a case...

Apple to Announce iPhone 5 on June 5?

Will Apple announce the iPhone 5 - or whatever its name will be - on June 5? That's what this screenshot taken from the Moscone Center website reveals with the usual "Corporate Meeting" placeholder. Historically, Apple has always held its iPhone announcement in early June, so there is no reason for that to change.

The only oddity is that the event supposedly would start on a Sunday, whereas iPhone announcements happened on Mondays in the past...

Jailbreak iPhone iOS 4.2.1

iOS 4.2.1 has been released for a while now, and up until this weekend, there wasn't a good and practical jailbreak for it. Sure RedSn0w did the trick but since it was a tethered jailbreak, it wasn't very convenient.

Then came RedSn0w untethered jailbreak, which was better than its predecessor, but still wasn't satisfying to most of us. Finally the Chronic Dev Team updated GreenPois0n, which brings a safe and reliable untethered jailbreak for iPhone iOS 4.2.1...

Verizon iPhone Chipset Supports Both GSM and CDMA

The guys over at iFixit already got their hands on a Verizon iPhone and took it apart to compare its guts to those of the "original" iPhone 4. Most of what they found wasn't very surprising, but they did make one interesting discovery.

The Verizon iPhone sports a Qualcomm MDM6600 baseband chipset similar to the Droid Pro World Phone's, which brings support for both CDMA and GSM...

GreenPois0n Updated to Jailbreak Verizon iPhone

According to reports, a few lucky people have already started receiving their pre-ordered Verizon iPhones, which should officially be available to the rest of the US this coming Friday.

Ahead of the official Verizon launch date, the Chronic Dev Team has updated GreenPois0n to jailbreak iOS 4.2.6. We now have a proof that the jailbreak was successful as this picture was released earlier today...

PhotoMail Makes Attaching Photos to Emails on Your iPhone Easy

Until now, there was no practical and logical way to attach a picture to an email on your iPhone. You either copy/paste the image, or you can select it in your camera roll, and select it to be shared via email. But what happens if you want to insert a picture in an email you are currently working on?

That's where PhotoMail comes in. With this new jailbreak app, you'll be able to send any photo directly via the Mail.app. Just access to the copy/paste menu, and you'll see a (+) button, from which you'll be able to attach multiple images...

iPhone Theming Made Easy with Masks

Here is a jailbreak app that will sure make iPhone themers happy. Masks, a new application that lets you quickly and easily customize the look of your wallpaper and icons.

Up until now, the best way to customize your springboard was by using WinterBoard. While a great application, WinterBoard can be a bit cumbersome: you have to search for a theme, download it, activate it in WinterBoard, and respring. Masks takes all that away by bringing to the table a new way to tweak your iPhone springboard...

Spoken Notifications Come to the iPhone

If VoiceActivator is going to change the way you talk to your iPhone, Voice Notifications is going to change the way your iPhone talks to you!

The Voice Notifications app allows you to have your iPhone say just about anything you want when you receive a Text Message or Phone Call, replacing the ringtone by the voice of a woman alerting you you received a new text message or call from someone...

How to Charge 20 iPhones at Once

Ever wondered how you could possibly sync 20 iPhones at the same time? No, me neither, but at least now I know how to.

PARASYNC is a new accessory that lets you plug 20 iPhones (or any iDevice) in a giant docking station to easily sync them with iTunes. With 20 devices plugged at the same time, data transfer will obviously be slower. The company's website states it takes about 20 minutes to sync 1GB of data, and 35 minutes for 2GB.

I guess the question on everybody's lips is "who the heck needs to sync 20 iPhones at once?"

Best Buy Makes Space for the White iPhone 4

Engadget has the picture of a shelf tag for a 16GB white iPhone 4, supposedly spotted at a Best Buy location in Houston. At $599, we can only imagine this is a contract-free iPhone.

There has been more and more rumors lately about the availability of a white iPhone 4, which might lead us to think Apple's own unicorn might indeed hit the shelves sooner than later. Heck, even Woz confirmed it...
