How to Unlock your iPhone 4.3.3 with UltraSn0w

Thanks to the hard work of the iPhone Dev Team, the UltraSn0w unlock for iPhone has been updated to play well with iOS 4.3.3. As mentioned in our previous post about UltraSn0w, this will only work with iPhone 4 baseband 1.59.00, and iPhone 3G/3GS basebands 4.26.08, 5.11.07, 5.12.01, 5.13.04, and 6.15.00.

If your baseband is different from these, then you can't unlock for the time being. If your baseband matches one of those above but you are on an older firmware, use PwnageTool to update while preserving the baseband.

In this tutorial, we will show you how to unlock your iPhone 4.3.3 using UltraSn0w...

UltraSn0w iPhone Unlock for iOS 4.3.3 Released

Just about 2 weeks after releasing the previous version, the Dev Team released today UltraSn0w 1.2.3, a software unlock for iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS. Like its predecessor, this newer version of UltraSn0w doesn't unlock the latest basebands.

UltraSn0w will only work for the older iPhone 4 baseband 1.59.00, and iPhone 3G/3GS basebands 4.26.08, 5.11.07, 5.12.01, 5.13.04, and 6.15.00...

Jailbreak iPhone 4.3.3 with RedSn0w [Tutorial]

Just hours ago, the Dev Team released an update to their popular jailbreak tools RedSn0w and PwnageTool. Those 2 are now fully compatible with iOS 4.3.3 and can be used safely to jailbreak Apple's latest firmware.

RedSn0w 0.9.6rc15 will jailbreak any device on iOS 4.3.3 except for the iPad 2. This tutorial will show you how to jailbreak your iPhone running iOS 4.3.3 using UltraSn0w. If you have an iPod Touch or iPad, you may follow this guide as well because the steps are identical...

My Favorite Twitter App for iPhone (No, It’s Not TweetBot)

It seems the landscape of Twitter apps has changed quite a bit since I published this post about the best Twitter apps for iPhone, a year and a half ago. Tweetie 2 is now Twitter for iPhone, and it looks like TweetDeck is officially joining the Twitter family as well.

A few weeks ago a new Twitter app was released with much noise around it: TweetBot. It was so popular that I decided to give it a try, thinking it might even replace my current favorite Twitter app. It didn't. TweetBot is too much for me. It's too busy and overdesigned.

After spending a week forcing myself to use TweetBot, I went back to my good ol' favorite: SimplyTweet...

RedSn0w Can Jailbreak iOS 4.3.3

A little after Apple released iOS 4.3.3 earlier today, we got the confirmation that the company hadn't patched i0n1c's untethered jailbreak exploit. That's good news for jailbreakers who will most likely get updated jailbreak tools from the Dev Team shortly.

In the meanwhile, if you can't wait for an officially updated jailbreak, you can still run the latest version of RedSn0w over your iPhone 4.3.3. It will be a tethered jailbreak but that will get you going until RedSn0w, PwnageTool, or Sn0wBreeze get an update...

Untethered Jailbreak Not Fixed in iOS 4.3.3

Some good news for jailbreakers coming from comex himself. Apparently, Apple hasn't fixed the exploit used by iPhone hacker i0n1c in his 4.3.2 jailbreak. What does that mean? Well it means that you might not be able to jailbreak and untether iOS 4.3.3 right now, but it's just a matter of time.

The Dev Team will most likely update PwnageTool and RedSn0w in the very near future, and provide us with stable and reliable jailbreaks. You can probably also expect iH8Sn0w to update Sn0wBreeze...

iOS 4.3.3 is Out – What Now?

Apple just released iOS 4.3.3 and as usual when a new firmware is out, we try to make sure we warn you about the potential risks. Experienced iPhone users might want to skip this post, but if you're new to the iPhone and especially jailbreaking, read on.

If your iPhone is jailbroken/unlocked, the first thing to do is to make sure you do not update to iOS 4.3.3. Updating will supercede your jailbreak, rendering it useless. As always when Apple releases an update to the software, make sure you hold on until new jailbreak/unlock is available...

Steve Jobs Photographed On His Way to Work

What kind of a news is this, you may ask yourself. Under other circumstances, a photo of Steve Jobs walking to work wouldn't have made its way to iDB, but considering Steve is on a medical leave of absence, it's nice to see him showing up at the office.

This picture was taken by 2 people who were visiting Apple's Cupertino offices from Italy. They saw a black luxury car showing up, and to their surprise, Steve Jobs came out from the passenger side. While he was walking his way to the door, the 2 visitors asked him for a picture. You can guess Steve's answer to that...

UltraSn0w Fixer Brings UltraSn0w Unlock Compatibility for iOS 4.3.2

Yay, we got a jailbreak for iOS 4.3.2! Ok, but what's up with the unlock? My guess is that the Dev Team is working on updating PwnageTool for 4.3.2 compatibility. When they release PwnageTool, most likely in the coming days, they will also update their UltraSn0w unlock.

Those of you who have updated to 4.3.2 while preserving their basebands using Sn0wBreeze or PwnageTool bundles are out of luck because the official version of UltraSn0w is not compatible with 4.3.2 yet...

White iPhone 4 Running Mystery Version of iOS Spotted in the Wild

Here's some double news for you. Vietnamese site Tinhte, who has a pretty good track record of verified Apple leaks, is back at it. This time, they are demoing on video what they claim to be a test version of the white iPhone 4 running a mystery iOS.

While it's hard to tell whether this iOS version is legit or not, I can't imagine it being a jailbreak tweak. I think if it was, we would have figured it out by now...

Jailbreak iPhone 4.3.2 with Sn0wBreeze 2.6

Just hours after the Dev Team updated RedSn0w, young iPhone hacker iH8Sn0w updated his own jailbreak tool, Sn0wBreeze, to version 2.6. This new version of Sn0wBreeze uses i0n1c's untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3.2.

For those of you that are not aware, Sn0wBreeze is a tool very similar to PwnageTool. Sn0wBreeze, a Windows-only jailbreak, allows you to update to the latest iOS while preserving your baseband, which is necessary if you want to unlock your iPhone.

Sn0wBreeze 2.6 will work for any device that supports iOS 4.3.2, except for the iPad 2...

Dev Team Fixes RedSn0w Untethered 4.3.2 Jailbreak for iPhone 4

Yesterday, the Dev Team released their RedSn0w untethered jailbreak tool for iOS 4.3.2. While the jailbreak was working fine with most devices, there seemed to be issues with the iPhone 4, which would randomly get stuck on reboot.

With the help of i0n1c, the Dev Team fixed RedSn0w and updated it to version 0.9.6rc14. If you already ran 0.9.6rc13, you can simply download RedSn0w 0.9.6rc14 and run it over the previous one...
