dealBoard for iPhone puts all of your deal services in one place

Here at iDB, we love a good deal on well, pretty much anything. Who doesn't? The problem is that finding deals on the stuff we actually want to buy is pretty tough — even with services like Groupon or LivingSocial.

That's why we were excited when we came across the new dealBoard for iPhone app. The software searches over a dozen services, including the aforementioned Groupon and LivingSocial, to bring you deals on stuff you like...

C-Spire Wireless now selling 16GB iPhone 4S for $150 with contract

Although the iPhone 4S retails for around $650 (16GB model), most folks can pick one up for significantly less than that. Carriers will generally absorb a large amount of the handset's cost as long as you promise to be a long-term customer.

Here in the US, all of the major carriers offer the 16GB iPhone 4S for $199 along with a two-year contract. And C-Spire Wireless, a southeastern regional operator, offers the entry-level iPhone 4S for just $149...

Rumor: iPad 3 pricing and configurations revealed

While we're fairly certain about most of the iPad 3's features and even its release date, pricing and configuration has remained a bit of a mystery. A purported iPad pricing matrix surfaced on the web earlier this week claiming that the new tablet would be more expensive than its predecessors, but otherwise we haven't heard a peep.

Well thankfully the folks over at 9to5Mac have broken the silence today with a new report that covers both storage configurations and pricing for the iPad 3. Want to know how much the new tablet will cost? Read on...

Apple confirms the iPhone uses Corning glass

We've assumed for a long time that Apple used ultra-tough Corning glass in its iOS products. Corning, a US-based company that specializes in glass and ceramics, is the maker of the popular Gorilla Glass display cover found in several devices.

Apple's never said for sure whether or not it uses the scratch-resistant glass cover in its mobile gadgets. But that changed today when the company, possibly by accident, confirmed its relationship with Corning in its new Job Creation page...

Apple prepping Yerba Buena Center for next week’s iPad 3 event

Apple sent out invites earlier this week for a media event to take place in California next Wednesday. The company is expected to unveil the third iteration of its popular tablet, and possibly a new Apple TV, during the keynote.

The event is slated to take place at San Francisco's Yerba Buena Center for the Arts — the same location Apple used to show off its iPad 2. And it looks like the company has already started prepping for the festivities...

Web logs show Apple testing iPads with iOS 6.0

This definitely looks like it's going to be a big year of iOS hardware. By all accounts, Apple is set to unveil its new iPad next week with a Retina display and LTE 4G technology. And we expect an even bigger makeover for the company's handset line later this year.

But what about software? Last year Apple added more than 200 new features to its mobile operating system with iOS 5. So what does it have in store for the next iteration? Well whatever it is, it looks like the company is hard at work on it...

Why is Apple hiring automotive engineers in China?

Earlier this week we talked about the possibility of Apple entering other markets to keep up its ridiculous growth pace. There's only so far the company's current iPhone and iPad products can take it before sales start to plateau.

When we mentioned the idea, we had no clue that the automotive industry was on Apple's list of potential new markets. But according to a recent job listing, the Mac-makers are in search of an automotive engineer for an undisclosed project...

Apple looking to launch subscription TV service by year’s end

The New York Post is reporting today that Apple is pushing ahead with plans to launch its own subscription TV service. The publication claims that Apple is looking to roll out the service by Christmas this year, despite serious push-back from major content providers.

We've been hearing rumors that Apple was working on its own streaming video service for over a year now, but this seems like one of the first times we've heard the news from a major outlet...

Apple TV to be “the biggest thing in consumer electronics since the smartphone”

Even though we have a pretty good feeling that Apple is going to unveil its third ATV set top box next week, gossip is still bouncing around about Apple's full-scale television. We've been hearing rumors of an Apple TV set for several months now.

A lot of the chatter can be traced back to Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster. The firm's resident Apple expert has been the device's biggest proponent up to this point, and now he's back with some new information...

New rumor claims the iPad 3 will actually be called iPad HD

We know, or feel like we know, just about everything there is to know about Apple's next tablet — except its name. Most websites, including us, have just been assuming that since it will be the third iPad, it will be called the iPad 3.

But according to Gizmodo, the new device will actually be named the iPad HD. The site points to a couple of pieces of evidence to back its claims, including third-party cases and data from web traffic analytics...
