You may remember when popular Apple device accessory maker Nomad released its limited-edition glow-in-the-dark Apple Watch Sport band just before Halloween last year. The band was such a hit that it sold out in less than 24 hours, but it’s glow-in-the-dark effect didn’t illuminate as brightly as some may have hoped.
Fortunately, the team at Nomad are at it again, this week announcing Glow 2.0, the brand’s next generation of glow-in-the-dark accessories for Apple devices. It’s a step above the previous generation, purportedly capable of glowing 3x brighter than the original Glow Apple Watch Sport band.
According to Nomad, it took the team nearly two dozen attempts to get the glow just right, but the final product is one to be amazed by, as it captures light and glows in the dark so brightly that you’ll get noticed. The team says the greatest challenge was getting the right balance of pigment dye and luminous material.
Built from FKM fluoroelastomer rubber just like all of Nomad’s other Apple Watch Sport bands, the Glow 2.0 band is durable, 100% waterproof, equipped with a custom aluminum closure pin, and fully adjustable. It’s even available in two versions – one for the larger 49mm and 45mm Apple Watches, and one for the smaller 41 and 40mm Apple Watches.
For as long as it’s in stock, you’ll be able to pick up an Apple Watch Sport band in the slick Glow 2.0 style for $60 from Nomad’s website. But act fast because it won’t be around for long.
Apple Watches aside, Nomad is also bringing Glow 2.0 to the iPhone. The brand typically launches color-matched Sport cases for Apple’s iPhones whenever they launch a new Apple Watch Sport band color, but this is the first time we’re getting a glow-in-the-dark iPhone case from Nomad.
Like the brand’s other Sport Case colors, the Glow 2.0 version features a high gloss, grippy plastic backplate with a rubberized bumper that features 8 feet of drop protection and built-in anodized aluminum buttons.
Importantly, this case works with Apple MagSafe and with Qi2 wireless chargers too, so you aren’t giving up your high-speed wireless charging capabilities.
The Glow 2.0 glow-in-the-dark Sport case is only available for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, so if you have a different model, then you’re out of luck. We should also add that this case, like the Apple Watch Sport band, is available only for a limited time for $50 from Nomad’s website.
