Answer Lens, Breath Confetti, Fragment app, and other apps to check out this weekend

It’s Easter weekend folks, and you know what that means! Time for another Apps of the Week roundup. This week we have some great picks for you including an AI homework helper, a cutting-edge app for breathing exercises, and a new, different kind of calendar app. And as always, we’ve selected a fun new game for you to check out.

Answer Lens

I could’ve sworn I just wrote about this app, or at least something similar, but anyway. This is Answer Lens, and it’s essentially the best homework helper ever. Simply take a photo of a math problem you are working on, and the app will not only give you the answer, but it will also give you the explanation for how it got there. So we are not just talking about an answer machine here—it will also help you learn. The app claims ‘unlimited knowledge,’ so perhaps it works with other subjects, but it’s obviously really good with math and you can use it as many times as you want for free—with ads.

Breath Confetti

Don’t let the weird name fool you, Breath Confetti can be a game-changer for you if you’ve never tried breathing exercises or just haven’t found the right app to help you do it on a consistent basis. Obviously your first impression is the bright green UI, but tell me this doesn’t sound impressive “Using cutting-edge microphone technology, this app listens and adapts to your unique breathing patterns, providing a personalised experience that encourages mindful breathing techniques.” It looks like you have to pay to access most of the features, but prices start at just $0.99.

Fragment app

I’ll be honest, my first impression when I saw this app was “yes, finally, a cool new calendar app to try!” But that’s not necessarily the case. This is Fragment app, and it’s less a personal calendar, and more a calendar platform for creators, businesses, etc. Think…a teacher for online classes could upload the week’s or the month’s schedule here, or a restaurant chain that wants to offer special deals on certain days, or a local music act—you get the idea. It’s a clever enough idea that I decided to leave it in this week’s roundup, and besides, you can add in your own activities.

AFK Journey

AFK Journey is an Ethereal Fantasy RPG that just launched on iOS, Android, and PC. In it you play as the legendary mage Merlin, and you must form meaningful bonds with the heroes of the Six Factions, be their guide, and help them become the legends they were meant to be. As with any RPG, you can upgrade your equipment and level up, there are dozens of heroes and even epic heroes to discover, and each hero comes with three distinct skills. So it has all the right RPG pieces, it has the strong storyline, it has the unique and (subjectively) cool graphics, and for a limited time, you get a ton of free content. Why not check it out this weekend?
