The recently updated Spatialify app now lets you capture crisper, higher-quality spatial videos on your iPhone 15 Pro than Apple’s own Camera app.
The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are Apple’s first smartphones capable of capturing stereoscopic 3D video. Apple calls this Spatial Video, but some folks are dissatisfied with the quality of spatial captures in the built-in Camera app.
Apple’s stock app captures spatial videos in the standard dynamic range (SDR) and restricts the recording resolution to 1080p at 30 frames per second (fps).
With Spatialify, you can shoot spatial videos in crisp 4K resolution with four times the pixels and high dynamic range (HDR), which boosting the shadows and highlights.

Apple clarifies that the iPhone 15 Pros restricts spatial video capture to 1080p resolution at 30 fps in SDR, but your memories deserve better than that.
Spatialify, a $3 iPhone app released last year, now supports capturing spatial videos directly in the app in HDR 4K at 30fps or 1080p at 60fps. In addition, users can preview their spatial captures with it even if they don’t have a Vision Pro.
This is possible thanks to features like parallel viewing, anaglyph and Cardboard mode that simulate how the footage may look in stereoscopic 3D on VR hardware before you decide to share it with your friends or family.
Viewing, exporting and sharing your spatial captures
The app can export your spatial videos in formats that are suitable for viewing on non-Apple VR headsets and 3D TVs. You can also connect to supported AR glasses from within the app to browse your spatial videos and photos there.
Quest owners specifically may want to shoot spatial videos in Spatialify and transfer them to their $500 headset with Softorino’s free Spatial Viewer app.
