Grider jailbreak tweak gives you the unfair advantage that you might need in certain games

If you play certain games on your jailbroken iPhone or iPad in which overlaying a specific type of grid over your game’s interface would help you play more effectively, then a jailbreak tweak called Grider by iOS developer gilshahar7 just might come in handy.

Examples of the Grider jailbreak tweak putting a grid over a game's interface in iOS and iPadOS.

As you can see in the screenshot examples above, Grider can help you figure angles and distance in different types of games that you would ordinarily find yourself trying to guess at without the visual aids. These types of overlays are generally helpful in games where you need to use specific angles, such as those themed upon golf billiards, among other things.

In the tweak’s depiction page, the developer is very specific to mention Golf Clash as an example of a game where this tweak could come in handy. However, since you can effectively design whichever type of grid you want, you can tailor this tweak to any app or game to boost your accuracy.

Once installed, Grider adds a dedicated preference pane to the Settings app where you can configure a few different options to your liking:

Things that you can do here include, but aren’t limited to:

  • Toggle Grider on or off on demand
  • Choose a color for the grid
  • Choose a width for the grid lines
  • Add lines that compose your grid

Recent updates to Grider have even added the following power features that have improved upon the original release:

  • Add text instead of only lines
  • Reorder your lines hovever you see fit
  • Edit existing lines
  • Choose a specific color and width per line
  • Use dashed or patterned lines instead of ordinary ones
  • Create circles or patterned circles
  • Rotate 180 degrees
  • Take advantage of presets if you aren’t comfortable making your own grids

There are tons of resources to help users set up their first grid. Sample ideas are available via a Google Docs link and can help you get started on a per-device basis.

We should also note that the latest update has added support for jailbroken iOS & iPadOS 16 devices, which means that now the latest devices jailbroken either by way of Dopamine v2 or palera1n can now take advantage of grids over their gaming interfaces, potentially assisting users in scoring higher in specific games.

Is Grider only for cheaters? Maybe. But we’ll leave that up to you to decide. The tweak is available for $2.99 via the Havoc repository and can be purchased via any package manager app.
