Rumor: iPhone 16 Pros could come in new Desert Titanium and Titanium Gray colors

The upcoming iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models could be available in two new color options that will likely be boring, and good luck telling them apart!

Leaker Majin Bu wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that Apple will market the two new color options as “Desert Titanium” and “Titanium Gray” (Gray Titanium?).

And one thing is practically a given: There won’t be a brightly-colored iPhone 16 Pro or iPhone 16 Pro Max. Apple has always styled Pro-branded iPhones in dull, boring colors as opposed to the vibrant color options available with non-Pro models.

God forbid a “pro” user shows up for their next meeting carrying a brightly-colored iPhone. Apple apparently believes that professional smartphone users should have their iPhone Pros in dull colors, but where’s the fun in that?

iPhone 16 Pros could come in all-new color finishes

Hartley Charlton, MacRumors:

Majin Bu said that the “Desert Titanium” will be similar to the Gold color option offered on the iPhone 14 Pro in 2022, but deeper and heavier. On the other hand, “Titanium Gray” will apparently be similar to the shade of Space Gray offered on the iPhone 6 in 2014.

iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max come in Black Titanium, White Titanium, Blue Titanium and Natural Titanium. I suppose “Desert Titanium” will replace White Titanium in the lineup, and “Titanium Gray” will supplant Black Titanium, but I could be wrong about that. Apple could also ditch Blue Titanium and Natural Titanium to make way for “Desert Titanium” and “Titanium Gray.”

iPhone Pro finishes have always looked too similar to me, especially the color options available with the iPhone 15 Pros—they’re uninspiring and too dull if you ask me.

Bring back Rose Gold!

It is worth noting that there is no ‌‌iPhone 15 Pro‌‌ with a Gold finish. Gold was available through 2013’s ‌‌iPhone‌‌ 5S to 2017’s ‌‌iPhone‌‌ 8, and then on 2018’s ‌‌iPhone‌‌ XS to 2022’s ‌‌iPhone 14‌‌ Pro. The reintroduction of a gold-like shade with the ‌iPhone 16 Pro‌ seems very plausible as a result.

Remember the Uber-popular Rose Gold iPhone 6s? Hard to believe it’s been eight years since Apple produced an iPhone in Rose Gold! Now, Majin claims that Apple is internally discussing other color options, too.

Take this report with a grain of salt because even Majin isn’t convinced it’s accurate enough. He even put a disclaimer in his X post, advising people not to take this information as 100 percent correct or real because “it is just a rumor.”
