VisibleIsland and mineland jailbreak tweaks move the Dynamic Island below the notch on unsupported devices

If you’ve ever used something such as DynamicCowTS to enable the Dynamic Island user experience on unsupported older notched iPhones, then you may have noticed how it doesn’t exactly align well with the notch despite working correctly. Specifically, it overlaps the notch halfway, blocking some of it from view.

In just the past couple of days, there have been two new jailbreak tweak releases that attempt to solve this problem by moving the Dynamic Island down slightly so that it sits out of the way of the notch to make it both more aesthetically pleasing and more accessible.

Those two jailbreak tweaks are mineland by iOS developer Huy Nguyen (@Little_34306) and VisibleIsland by iOS developer ethxn88, and if you’re interested in seeing how they work, just check out Hguyen’s demo video.

Both of these tweaks are designed for jailbroken iOS & iPadOS 16.0-16.6.1 devices and each one offers a unique set of features.

For example, VisibleIsland makes it possible to enable or disable the Dynamic Island on demand with a toggle switch and it also lets duets move the Dynamic Island around by toying with X and Y position values manually. The mineland tweak offers a unique feature that dynamically hides the black “pill” of the Dynamic Island when not in use to help keep it out of the way.

We should also mention that both jailbreak tweaks can be used on rootless jailbreaks (such as palera1n and the upcoming Dopamine 2 tool), as well as the RootHide bootstrap with the Serotonin “semi-jailbreak.”

Since both jailbreak tweaks enhance the user experience of the Dynamic Island when enabled on older devices, and both are available as free downloads, we would strongly recommend installing one of them if you’re using the Dynamic Island on an unsupported notched device.

The mineland jailbreak tweak is available from Nguyen’s GitHub page as a .deb file that you can download and install through a package manager app such as Sileo or Zebra.

The VisibleIsland jailbreak tweak, on the other hand, is available as a free download from the developer’s personal repository via your favorite package manager app. That repository URL if you’re not already using it is as follows:
